The Prayerful Word - November 24

  • 1 Samuel 12:24 Be sure to fear the LORD and serve Him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things He has done for you.

Romans 15:4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.

Hebrews 7:25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

Ephesians 5:3 But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

Luke 12:37 Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will dress himself for service and have them recline at table, and he will come and serve them.

May you rest in the assurance that the Lord will provide from His abundance all the resources that you need to perform the assignments He sets before you, leaving you only the need to choose to obey and to will to continue, even to the end of your strength and understanding, for only when you come to the end of your resources, and start relying on His, will His might and power be seen, and His glory be revealed, to His honor and praise. Ezekiel 45

May you not disregard the day of small beginnings, or the benefit of initial steps, for just as the water that flowed from the temple merely made the paving stones damp in the courtyard, as you keep following the path of the Lord's assignment and walking in His presence, moving in the power of the Spirit, obeying the word of God, you will find yourself going deeper into the life-giving truths of the Lord and bearing the fruit which feeds others and the leaves which bring healing, if you continue and do not falter or turn back. Ezekiel 47

May you readily accept others, whom you have not known, as having a part in the inheritance of God, receiving them and their children (for no one who goes warring can travel fast with children) wherever they settle & distributing their allotment the same as anyone else. Ezekiel 47

May you confidently understand and realize with certainty that the Lord knows your name and is fully acquainted with and aware of who you are and what you are like. He has prepared an inheritance for you that will beautifully fit your needs and is perfectly suited to your preferences since He has never taken His eyes off of you. He has studied you in the way a person enjoys a work of art over and over, never growing tired of hearing a lovely song performed, or gazing on a beautiful painting, always finding joy and satisfaction in the smallest details – even so God enjoys you. Ezekiel 48

May you abstain from the sinful desires which war against your soul, since you are aliens and strangers in the world and represent a different King, that you may live such good lives among the pagans that though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God, your King, on the day He visits us. 1 Peter 2

May you submit yourself, for the Lord's sake, to every authority instituted among men, whether to the king, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right, for it is God's will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men. 1 Peter 2

May you live as a free person, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil. Instead live as a servant of God, showing proper respect to everyone by loving the brotherhood of believers, fearing God, and honoring the king. 1 Peter 2

May you submit yourself, as an employee, to your manager and employer with all respect, whether they are considerate or harsh. Bearing up and enduring unjust suffering for doing good, because you are conscious of God, is commendable, but there is no credit for enduring discipline for doing wrong. Instead, follow the example of Christ Who suffered for you though He did no wrong and spoke no lies, entrusting Himself to the One Who judges justly. 1 Peter 2

May you know that you can die to sins and live to righteousness because Jesus Christ, Himself, bore your sins in His body on the cross, and by His wounds you have been healed; for though you were like a sheep wandering away, now you have returned to the Shepherd and Protector of your soul. 1 Peter 2

May you walk in wisdom toward all who watch so that the conversation of your life-style may show the incorruptible beauty of God's holiness in your behavior, clothed with the imperishable loveliness of a gentle and tranquil attitude as you continue daily in humble submission to the Father's Word. 1 Peter 3

My child, I have not called you to a war which is fought with weapons of mass destruction, pursuing a scorched earth policy. Rather, I have engaged you in hostage rescue as you battle an enemy which uses human shields and employs child warriors who cannot determine right from wrong.
You cannot win My victories through weapons of the flesh, of the mind, or of the world, My precious one. You will, at times, have to follow steps that appear to lose the battle in the eyes of the other combatants, suffering loss, bearing shame, enduring scorn, for the true enemy is only defeated by the spiritual power I give you.
The strongholds of lies built by the spiritual forces of evil in heavenly realms are pulled down by your example of humility of heart, meekness toward men, trust in Me, and the greatest of these, the same giving, yielding love toward your fellow man that I showed during My trial and on the cross, for there is no ordinance against these. Through this, men will see the loving nature of the Father Who accepts all who come in repentance.
The deceitfully conscripted ranks of the enemy's army will see the light of the truth that shines through you as you choose to die to self; they will pull strength from My life, as it appears in you, to break free from the burdensome yoke of the fear of death which has held them prisoner.
So rejoice and give thanks, My dear one, for in your praise to the Father lies the victory for others.

May you not turn aside from His law or decline in your desire to follow His ways, though the arrogant mock you without restraint and the proud have you greatly in derision. Psalm 119

May you take comfort in earnestly recalling the Lord's ordinances from long ago. Psalm 119

May you be gripped by burning indignation, terror and sadness which seize upon you because of the wicked who forsake His law. Psalm 119

May your song bear the theme of God's decrees & statutes in whatever house your pilgrimage takes you to. Psalm 119

May you have, as the gift of His grace and as your reward, the practice of hearing, receiving, loving and obeying His precepts. Psalm 119

May you promise to keep the words of the Lord, Who is your source of security. Psalm 119

May you entreat His favor as you seek the face of the Lord with all your heart, for then He will be merciful and gracious to you according to His promise. Psalm 119

May you consider your ways, and turn your steps to obey His testimonies and statutes. Psalm 119

May you make haste and not delay to obey His commands. Psalm 119

May you not forget His law though the wicked bind, enclose and ensnare you with cords and ropes. Psalm 119

May you give thanks to the Lord for His righteous laws and ordinances on every occasion that causes you to rise at night. Psalm 119

May you be a friend and companion of all those who fear, revere, and worship the Lord, and of those who observe and give heed to the precepts of God. Psalm 119

May you learn to follow the decrees and statutes that the Lord teaches you, even as you learn to see that the earth is filled with His mercy and loving-kindness. Psalm 119

May you rejoice when the righteous triumph, for concealment is needed when the wicked rise to power. Proverbs 28:12

May you confess and renounce your sins, for then you will find mercy; if you conceal and disguise them, you will not prosper. Proverbs 28:13
