The Fruit of the “Holy” Spirit is an inspiration to me. It says in Galatians 5:22-23 (ESV):
(22) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, (23) gentleness, self-control;…
There are several different interpretations of the Fruit of the Spirit but they are all part of God’s plan to heal our lives. For example, the King James Version (KJV) translation uses longsuffering instead of patience, meekness instead of gentleness, and temperance instead of self-control.
The Complete Jewish Bible (CJB) translation uses humility instead of gentleness and the Darby translation uses fidelity instead of faithfulness, and so on. However, one thing is for certain all of the Fruit of the Spirit are the opposite of grief.
Next week we will begin a more in depth study of the Fruit of the Spirit and how God uses His love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control to heal our grief from devastating loss. I look forward to your comments and input. Blessings to you.
