THE FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD

Rejoicing during the annual feasts is a type of the joy at the end of the age when all evil is destroyed and the Millennial Reign has begun. A huge step towards understanding end-time prophecy is knowing who Israel is today. It is not about a country. The mixing of Abraham’s DNA with the nations began when Jacob’s twin brother Esau married two Hittite wives. ALL FAMILIES of the earth have been grafted into the family vine of Israel, the family of Jacob, by intermarriages over thousands of years. Jacob became the first Israelite when Father Yhovah changed his name to Israel. These facts are why there are only twelve gates into heavenly Jerusalem, each with the name of an Israelite tribe. This does not mean all souls will be saved! We are at the end of this age, at the end of the third day. Everyone today has some of Abraham and Jacob’s DNA and are the family of Israel.

Genesis 12:2-3  I will make of thee (Abram) a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall ALL FAMILIES of the earth be blessed.

Amos 9:9  I will command, and I will sift the house (family) of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth.

The first spring divine appointment is Pesach, known in English as Passover. Father Yhovah instructed His people to keep this feast as a memorial of when He saved His people from bondage, just as He will save His still living people on the Day of Wrath.

Exodus 12:14-16  And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; And ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance forever.

Leviticus 23:5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD'S passover.

Father Yhovah passed over, killing only the first born of the Egyptians and their animals. While the Egyptians were burying their dead, the Israelites, along with many others, escaped physical bondage.

Exodus 12:37-38   And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children. 38 And a mixed multitude went up also with them...

Fifteen hundred years later, Messiah Immanuel was sacrificed to set us captives free from spiritual bondage to the law of sin and death. John the Baptist identified Messiah as the Passover Lamb, soon to shed His blood.

John 1:29   The next day, John saw Jesus coming to him; and he saith behold the Lamb of God. Behold Him who taketh away the sin of the world

About 50 years after the crucifixion the apostle Paul was still teaching the true Kingdom gospel. He wrote to the Congregation at Corinth while still at Ephesus, telling them to keep the Passover feast by first purifying their hearts, recorded in:

1 Corinthians 5:7-8   Purge out therefore the old leaven that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us: 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

We are to eat lamb, unleavened bread, and bitter herbs, to remember the Lamb of God and bitterness of slavery to sin. The traditions and doctrines of men have added much more, but Father Yhovah’s instructions were simple.

Exodus 12:39  And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought forth out of Egypt, for it was not leavened; because they were thrust out of Egypt, and could not tarry, neither had they prepared for themselves any victual.

Passover begins the seven-day Feast of Unleavened Bread.

Leviticus 23:6  And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.

The Feast of First Fruits is the third day of Unleavened Bread and is a type of Messiah Immanuel’s 3rd day translation out of the tomb. He was the first fruit of the 3rd day fruit harvest, not the first of many brethren.
