Who We ARE
Who are we? We are a couple, Johnny & Gail Williams, who began our journey in essential oils very slowly back around the year 2001 or so. We ventured slowing because of spiritual reasons to be honest. We were Christians and knew what the Word said about witchcraft so we stayed clear of all that encompassed that subject. Then one day we read that God gave us healing in the leaves. Then we read that God used a mix creating a forbidden holy oil to anoint things and a mix of herbs to be burnt in HIS Temple. Then... we remembered the verse about 'healing in the leaves'. Maybe we were a bit to legalistic (fence laws) on the topic of Essential Oils. Hence, we began our journey with the volatile Essential Oils. We searched all the companies that were available. at one point we had all the oils they made of one popular company. We noticed little things that seemed to work. I wanted more. More information, more knowledge. If we were gonna put this stuff on our bodies we probably needed to be more careful. I was a Medical Transcriptionist and knew that if you put something on your skin its in your organs within 26 seconds.
A short time later, through a series of events, we ended up taking our son to an Amish Iridologist. He was well known and had many positive stories from lots of people. We knew nothing of this type of thing. We had nothing to loose, right? The Conventional medicine could not help our son and it had been almost a year now. Long story short, he looked in his eyes with his little magnifying glass and immediately scooting back in his chair in dramatic fashion, said "what happened to this kid?" We were stunned at his remark, but my mom reminded us that he had had Spinal Meningitis as an infant spending 2 weeks at Vanderbilt, signing releases to use experimental drugs on him because none were working(the last one did work, obviously, Praise Yehovah).
So we explained the SM incident to the Amish Iridologist, but that had been twelve years prior! He said that explained it. His organs looked like prunes, all shriveled up. He began reading his mail, so to speak, asking if he had certain symptoms, which he did. He then said he had a leaky spleen. Wait! Stop the truck! Spleens filter blood. If the spleen was leaky, could that be it? Oh by the way, we had told him nothing! He had no idea why we were there. Just a reminder, they have no electricity, no computers, phones etc. You had to use snail mail to book an appointment. He continued, saying he wasn't worried about that at all. He was more worried about his heart. Oh boy. We were scared now. Sparing you of all the following drama and details, he eventually said we can take care of this with (a $4 bag) Cayenne Pepper. AND it did! He said Cayenne was fantastic. It stopped bleeding in its tracks by cauterizing the vessels. He suggested that everyone carry this herb in their vehicles. According to this Amish man, the Cayenne would help both organs and was very beneficial to alleviate all symptoms that we had began to tell him he was having. He did suggests some other herbal tinctures to take to built his body back up.
Wow! To say the least, this threw me into great research on all things natural. I came to the conclusion that why not use natural first then if we still needed conventional at least we gave it a try with NO SIDE EFFECTS. In our long journey now with EO's and Herbals, the only side effects we have experienced have been, 'hot to the skin', tastes badly, burns and the typical things that are in essence very minor compared to pharmx. So, yeah, I will take an herb or EO all day long first before that.
I will say, it has been a process. It didn't happen overnight. We first had to learn, then experiment. Other family members had to do the same. I went through countless trainings and certifications in both EO's and Herbal courses over the years, obtaining my Level II Aromatherapist Certification as well as Herbal Certifications. Being an Aromatherapist and Herbalist has opened up a whole new world for our family. Using Lavender to relax tension, Cardamom for my cough (asthma) and Plantain tincture for stings and UTI's has been life changing. Do we still go to the doctor? Well we do have friends that do not thats for sure. We do have a GP for our family that works with us on this journey. We had to search out a doctor that would be willing to do this. Most will not. They believe that Conventional Medicine is the ONLY way. We simply do not.
