"SWEETER THAN HONEY"
ANDREW WHALEN, PEORIA, ILLINOIS
One thing I have noticed about the voice of God, He will speak to me even when I think I don't deserve it or qualify for His time. It's a very human tendency to "earn" things. Sometimes it honestly just confounds my sense of human reason why God would talk intimately to me when I can't figure out where and how I deserved it! Which highlights the point—none of us deserve Him. And though friendship with God holds merit in receiving His secrets, He just wants to talk to all of us! He so loves the world!
He wanted to talk to us so bad in fact, He made His Word come alive in flesh! That Word in flesh became a message in and of itself. It went to hang on the Cross to let us know how God thinks of us, and what He is declaring over all the world, "Return to me!"
"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)
I'm reminded today that God loves to send His word and talk to us no matter where we are at! Pay attention for the voice of God. He is often speaking, and rarely ever because you or I deserve it! Next time you hear the voice of the Lord, remember it is forever connected to the eternal love of God for you that was fully expressed in the death of Christ!
