"A CALL TO RETURN TO THE SECRET PLACE"
DEBORAH PERKINS, MEDWAY, MA
Not long after I finished my prayer time and began work, I heard the Lord calling me back into the secret place. As I sat with Him again, He asked me to scribe and release this word to you to encourage you to continue seeking Him moment by moment. No matter what your "routine" prayer times are, I sense that an immediate availability to pray in the Spirit is essential at this time.
"It's going to be more important than ever for you to abide in the secret place of My love. I will call you aside with Me at unusual and often inopportune times. Do you trust Me to show you the way? Will you obey the secret whispers that draw you into My miraculous presence when the enemy desires to wreak havoc upon your world?
"For I alone can guide you into places of perfect peace, where you are safely covered and protected until evil passes by (see Psalm 57:1; Isaiah 26:20). Do not allow the busyness of your life to hinder you from obedience to these important times with Me! The enemy always looks for a more 'opportune' time to attack, but I know where he plans to go. I will be your defense and cause you to sidestep his movements even as you come away with Me.
"Take breathers throughout your day to meditate on Me and I will fill you to the measure you open yourself to Me. There is never any reason to close the door of your heart if you remain in My presence daily!
"Openness to Me will result in a security you have not known before. As you open your heart’s door to Me, I close every door to the enemy. Finalize your determination to respond to My every call. Would you deny the summons of a King?
"Let Me minister to your heart just as you minister to Mine, in secret moments of tender affection which are no less powerful against your adversary than if you had drawn a sword yourself!"
We cannot afford to miss the blessing of trusting in God's counsel alone at this time! For many weeks the Lord has brought me repeatedly to Jeremiah 17:5–10. These ancient words form a key message for this hour! The distinction between those who trust in the Lord and those who choose to rely on their own devices is becoming clearer and clearer.
I feel the Lord urging: "Do not be one who refuses to listen and set aside time for the ONLY Savior, Deliverer, Counselor, Friend, Refuge, and Defense you have! Honor Me, and I will honor you in return!"
As we enter into what promises to be a tumultuous season of political debates and continued national upheaval, I pray these simple words will strengthen you:
May you abide under the shadow of God's wings, believing for His glorious light and peace to be revealed in and through you as you receive His wonderful love.
