Truth and Contradiction

  • Every word of God received must by necessity be challenged with contradiction. There are many examples of this truth in scripture. Here's one of them. In the garden they were like God, because God said he made them in "their" image.

Along comes the enemy and says "if you eat this fruit, you will be like God". So what they did was listen to the false suggestion of the enemy and fell into performance mode in order to be more God-like. They ate a piece of fruit to be like God when they already were like God. You see, their sin was not trying to be like God, it was trying to be like God without God.

So the word they received from God was challenged by contradiction and they failed to endure the contradiction, thereby giving up the revelation.

Here's another example. In Luke 3:22 God tells Jesus you are my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. These are the last words Jesus hears from the Father before going into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

Now look at Luke 4:1-3. In verse 3 what are the enemies first words to Him. "IF you are the Son of God." Well the word from God in Luke 3:22 says He was. The enemy brings a contradiction to that word.

If you feed yourselves with the contradiction you'll never be empowered by the revelation.

Finally, this one right here. Genesis 2:16,17.

16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Then comes the contradiction from the enemy in Genesis 3:1. Hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

Do you see the contradiction. The enemy always overplays his hand by revealing error. The enemy always twists scripture or his message to you. He always provides a subtle false suggestion to get you to question God's word to you. God said you may freely eat of every tree, but the enemy said God said you shall not eat of every tree. God is always positive in His promises, but the enemy is always negative in his lies. So when you hear "Hath God Said", know that what comes next is a contradiction from the enemy to throw you off God's truth. Grace and Peace.
