We usually stop by after Church on Sunday and pick up a Pizza on the way home. Last Sunday it was bitterly cold with snow and slick roads so Church was canceled. We decided to cook a Pizza from our freezer. We put it in the oven and set the timer. Before the timer went off, I smelled the Pizza and it smelled done. Instead of talking it out when I smelled it, we opted to wait until the timer went off. We had set the timer for the least time the directions showed. We thought it would be OK, but because we didn't listen to my nose, we got to eat a slightly burned Pizza. It was edible but not the best it could have been. It's like we missed that small still voice, because we were trying to do it the world's way. We are in a season where it is imperative that we hear the voice of the Lord. It may not be loud, but we need to be alert and listening.
1 Kings 19:11-12 "Then He said, "Go out, and stand on the mountain before the LORD." And behold the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice."
