"Listen to the following illustrative story for its lasting value as
applied to every act of your life. Already look what that involves:
everything you do, think, say, feel. Throughout your day you have hundreds
of actions. Are you going to use them profitably or use them for a loss?
    Listen to the story.

There were once two men who had money to invest using an investment firm
down in the big city. So one morning, the first man went to the manager in
charge of investments and he said, 'I have some money, I'd like to turn it
over to you and of course hopefully it will turn a profit on my
    investment.'

So the manager said, 'Fine, that's what we're here for, to earn money for
people. Come back in a month, and check with us.' The other man came in the
afternoon, with the same idea and the money manager told him the same
    thing.

After a month, the first man came for a report on his money and the manager
said, 'I'm sorry, I don't really have any good news for you at this time.'
And the investor was a little disappointed, but he said, 'All right,' and he
    went out.

But the other man came back that afternoon for a report and the manager
very cheerfully said, 'Fine, we invested your money and go over to the
cashier, she'll give you a check for the profit that your invested money
made.' Delighted, he said, 'Thank you, keep my principle and continue to
    invest.'

Over the next several months, the very same thing happened each month, as
both investors came in: one man got good news and the other got bad news.

One day, the other man who was making nothing came in and after about the
twelfth time that he had received bad news, that is, no profit at all, and
he was more than disappointed, he was furious and he took it out on the
manager, and he said, 'I'm going to report you to the authorities.

'I know that another man who comes in here who gets checks every month and
you give me nothing but stalls, and I demand to know why.' The manager gave
a big sigh, and he said, 'All right Sir, since you want to know why you're
not getting any return on your money, I'll tell you, you've been giving me
    counterfeit money.'

And the man angrily denied it, but the manager said, 'I can prove it to
you. If you want, I can put it under scientific equipment to show you.
And I suggest, Sir, that you find out who's been giving it to you and you'll
find out why you have been so careless in your thinking and your business
affairs, that you come here and try to pass off bad money.'

With the explanation, the so-called investor grew doubly furious and he
said, 'Why on earth did you let me come in here for a year without telling
    me what was wrong?'

The manager said, 'Look, I don't think you understand something. You're not
the first one to come in here and try to put one over on us. As a matter of
fact, we have had centuries of experience with two kinds of investors and
unfortunately for the world, there are far more like you than those who have
given good money. That other man brought in good money, that's why he got a
    return on it.'

'You know, Sir,' the money manager said, 'if I had told you when you first
came in here about that bad money, you wouldn't have believed me. You would
have yelled at me, you would have screamed, you would have denied what I'm
trying to tell you. And we've learned over hundreds of years of experience,
our firm, how to deal with people, how to handle them so that they can stop
injuring their own earnings, their own best interest by continuing to pass
off bad money. There's only one way to do it. And that is to, unfortunately
for human beings, let them learn the lesson for themselves.'"
