"REAL INSPIRATION
A class in Chicago requested, 'Please give us something to think about.'
'Your own nature is the only reward or punishment you receive on earth.
What you are is how you feel. There is no division between the kind of
person you are and the feelings you have. You yourself are your very
feelings. Connect this with another point. When suffering, you suffer only
from yourself, regardless of how you think it is caused by external
happenings.'
Someone commented, 'We sense the truth of that, but it still makes us
uncomfortable.'
'As uncomfortable as it may feel, nothing is more inspiring than a blunt
fact about oneself. As pleasant as it may sound, nothing is more
discouraging than a falsehood about oneself masquerading as a fact.'
'With all this in mind, when can we expect real inspiration?'
'When there is no difference between the way you appear and the way you
are.'"
