"All right, you test it. The whole world is right in front of you and
you look and you react the way you've always reacted. For example, with
anxiety toward that sight perhaps, desire toward another sight. But all
you do is react without the slightest effort to understand why you did.
This is called fixation, and you know that it is actually also what is
called diabolical possession, yes it is.
You're possessed by a force you don't understand; you've never tried to
understand that takes you over and talks for you, lives for you, causes
you to suffer, makes you think you're doing something exciting. You're a
possessed man or woman. That means that you're an unhappy man or woman
and this has been your whole life. And in spite of all you hear in this
room, you don't stop yourself right in the middle of sighting an object
and saying what happened to me as a result of that sight. You don't do
it. Start."
