Adjuration

  • Adjuration:  (A 2 part Study) 

    Song of Solomon 2:7:   “I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem,
    By the gazelles or by the hinds of the field,
    That you do not arouse or awaken my love
    Until she pleases.”

    Leviticus 5:1:  ‘Now if a person sins after he hears a public adjuration to testify when he is a witness, whether he has seen or otherwise known, if he does not tell it, then he will bear his guilt.

    Joshua 6:26:    Then Joshua made them take an oath at that time, saying, “Cursed before the Lord is the man who rises up and builds this city Jericho; with the loss of his firstborn he shall lay its foundation, and with the loss of his youngest son he shall set up its gates.”

    1 Samuel 14:24-28:    Now the men of Israel were hard-pressed on that day, for Saul had put the people under oath, saying, “Cursed be the man who eats food before evening, and until I have avenged myself on my enemies.” So none of the people tasted food. All the people of the land entered the forest, and there was honey on the ground.     Matthew 26:63:    But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest said to Him, “I adjure You by the living God, that You tell us whether You are the Christ, the Son of God.”

    Mark 5:7:    and shouting with a loud voice, he *said, “What business do we have with each other, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God, do not torment me!”
