A friend mentioned to me that Dan is not listed among the sealed in Revelation. she asked me why? I looked and she was right, Joseph's other son seems to be mentioned instead, so I asked myself why. And so began my study of Dan.
Genesis 49 And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.................................
16 Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel.
17 Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.
18 I have waited for thy salvation, O Lord...................
We are talking about the last days. What horse? What rider?
I suggest to you:
Revelation 6:
5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
The money system had been established. Do you know how easy it is to measure a man by the way he handles money? The horsemen, are they from God or satan? Well, does Satan punish himself?
I believe they are aspects of the holy Spirit.
Revelation 13:
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Does that sound like biting the horse's heal and sending the rider backward? There will be a barter system for those who won't take the mark.
Still, there is that nagging question. Are the horsemen from God or Satan? I still contend that Satan does not judge himself, or those who belong to him.
This is where we need to look at the job of the Holy Spirit:
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
Christ equates himself to the Holy Spirit here.
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also.
24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.
25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.
26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.
Notice that Jesus says "their law." Rather than saying his law? They hated me without a cause, he said, and he mentions more about the nature of the Holy Spirit.
But then there is this:
6 But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
Do you notice that the Holy Spirit's job with the rest of the world is different than it is with believers?
This is why I think the four horsemen are aspects of the Holy Spirit, the first being sent on the day of Pentecost to the apostles and out into the rest of the world to the believers, the other three for judgment.
You ask why this matters? If you assume Christ and the Holy spirit are the same, as I do, then all of this makes this make sense:
Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Flimsy, you say?
speaking to Israel John 5:43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
There was a man who had an idol in his house and added a Jewish priest. In short, he mixed Judaism with idol worship: Judges 17 and 18
Dan took the priest and the idols for their own house.
Islam is a mix of Judaism and idolatry. I say this because of their black stone belief that it takes away their sins.
Perry Stone said that there are shadows in the scripture from the past that explain the present and the future. I think he's right. You can let your imagination take it from here. Except that I will point out one other thing about God's timing:
Jude 1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
Can you guess what he wanted with Moses' body?
