Say you spend your life dreaming about that perfect person and you've had them on your mind for years but when you approach them they find you silly, amusing and themselves way out of your league. You've taken their verbal abuse to your face and also behind your back with grace and dignity. Then one day you win the lottery and suddenly they have a revelation that deep down inside, they've been wanting you the whole time, they just didn't know it before.
I present to you:
6 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.
Who are these people who have tasted of the heavenly gift, which is eternal salvation, and partook of the Holy Ghost, have looked into the scriptures and the powers of the world to come.........who are these people?
Have you ever met someone who turned to religion diligently and then found out that it wasn't what they expected or hoped for and they didn't get out of it what they really wanted so they abandon the whole thing and move on to the next thing? The scripture indicates that how they respond to the word of God, the fruit it bears in their life, tells you a lot about who they were in the beginning.
I really believe that if a person has heard the word of God and tasted it and then decided it wasn't for them when times are easy, they aren't going to change their minds when believing comes with a price, and it will when the saints have been gathered in the air and those left behind on the earth will have to experience what living under the law is all about, what their satanic leader they've followed all their lives will be like when he has all authority on earth for a time. They blame God for lack of justice? They will see justice on steroids and to their surprise, they won't be omitted from the process.
I don't believe there will be any of this, "Finally, I have the proof I was waiting for. NOW I'll become a christian."
6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Says right there that God will send them strong delusion and they will believe a lie. Why? Because the truth was not good enough for them in the first place.
What will the lie be? Well, Farrakhan is about as close to the devil as you can get and he's been preparing his people to believe that aliens will come and send a bomb deep into the core of the earth and cause a world wide earthquake. He's already getting his people set up for the future reign of the antichrist and the rapture of the church.
How many alien abduction stories have you heard? Scientology teaches that we are aliens who forgot we were aliens and have been being recycled forever here on this planet until the time comes that we remember we're an alien who wanted to find out about limitations.
You see, the scripture indicates that repentance is a foundation you build upon. What happens when you pull a foundation out from under any structure?
When I repented, I didn't think about some evil I'd done to my siblings or some thought I had about my parents when they disciplined me. I thought about the state of my being that made all of that what it was. I repented of being a sinner rather than saying I'm sorry for individual proofs of that. Repentance is a state of mind that I never lost, it's a factoid about myself that I never denied, it's the thing that brought me to Jesus and the cross, it's the essence that made the cross make sense to me. My sin would bring about my eventual demise, but Jesus, he fixed that so that one day the Lord would restore my soul. "He restoreth my soul." It would be like it was supposed to be in the beginning, a soul without an inclination toward sin. There's a new body in that deal too.
Some people hear that message and they chew on it but they just can't quite seem to swallow it and digest it and make it part of who they are.
