THE LORD HAS CALLED YOU BY NAME

  • What does it mean when the Lord calls you? What do you do when He appoints You? The Bible tells us that many are called but few are chosen - Matthew 22:14. What exactly does this mean? The Lord normally appoints people to work in HIS Kingdom. There is so much work to do in the Kingdom of God, and labourers therefore should be many. Once God calls you into His Kingdom, always know that He will give you an option to either accept His calling or not. Acceptance of His calling will make you His disciple and work in His vineyard. We see so many people called into discipleship in the Bible, people who were fishermen, Businessmen and even soldiers. People who left their work once called and so it not as fruitful as it was in order to follow Christ! Matthew 4: 18 - 22 is an example of the first disciples Jesus called Simon and His brother Andrew, James and John. These were fishermen working in their own family businesses but upon their calling they left everything and followed Jesus.

Now we see another scenario in the Bible, where a King organised a wedding and invitations went out to prominent people known to the king but did not attend. The King had to send out invitations out to anyone who was willing to attend the wedding to join him celebrate - Matthew 22:1-4. And such we are told is the Kingdom of God, the ones who are called, do not accept His calling but there are others who will leave out there all to follow Christ!

When the Lord calls you, He calls you by Name. The Lord will not keep you second guessing on what you are called to do. He will confirm it in your spirit, through His Word and through the apostles. Confirmation will always be there to remove any doubt inside of you. Isaiah 43:1 But now, this is what the Lord says; He who created you, Jacob, He who formed you, Israel: " Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.

The question is once you are called, will you accept His calling like the disciples or not? The decision will always be yours to decide and every decision has its aftermath.

The life of fulfilling the purpose God sets in your life and in the life of others will bring about satisfaction in life, because you have lived according to your purpose. And in living according to His (GOD'S) purpose will always create an abundance to you and to the Kingdom. Deuteronomy 30: 15-16 See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. 16 For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.

Always know living in God's purpose will always be a life of blessings and increase. One will never remain the same way, because there is always growth, there is always learning something new. All the things and knowledge you will acquire in your walk is never for you but for the benefit of others.

I have pondered the difference between being called and chosen for years, because, of course, I want to be chosen! Finally, this week, I believe I have heard at least a single level of what He is saying. Many are called the...  more
