Recently, I stated that happiness is fickle, living on the surface, but Joy dwells in the deep place. Well....I STAND BY THAT!
Joy is not some kind of continual over-caffeinated attitude of constant "Sys Boom Bah" giddiness & mirth. To even insinuate it is a departure from reality.
Although our country is tearing itself apart with this unrest and we take it seriously, we can still center ourselves in Christ. We can go to a quiet place each day, shut it all out, focus on Christ, be grateful for ALL the blessings He's given us, and we can commune with Him, praying without ceasing. We can be still and know He is God. Our Lord is the Source of sanity during this insane time.
Here's some encouragement to back it up:
"..pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."

(*Note: This is not to say give thanks FOR everything that happens, but no matter what happens, continue to thank God. Being grateful to Him is essential for Joy)
