Ezekiel 39:29 (NKJV) 'And I will not hide My face from them anymore; for I shall have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel,' says the Lord GOD."
Devotional Thought:
This prophecy concerns three entities- Israel as a nation, the church universal and you as an individual believer in Christ. This hasn’t been fulfilled in Israel as a nation because they have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as their Messiah. The day of Pentecost marked the beginning of the fulfilment of this promise in the church. Its fulfilment began in your life when you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. This prophecy reveals that God never turns His face away wherever His Spirit rests. He says, “I will not hide My face from them anymore, because I shall have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel”.
What a promise! What will you do differently knowing that wherever you go, you are under God’s caring eyes? He is watching over you because His Spirit is upon you, and in you. When God hides His face, prayer goes unanswered, but when His face shines upon you, you enjoy divine responses to prayer.
God's face shining upon you, speaks of His favour on your life. He has pledged He will never take it away from you. God is invariably saying that you are favoured forever; don’t ever think of rejection for once, because you are favoured forever. When Jesus Christ turns His face on blind Bartimaeus the same people that shouted on him, to shut up turned, and said, to him rise up, He calls you. When God’s face shines, upon you, your foes become, your fans, your adversary, becomes your advertiser, and your accusers, become your announcers.
Your case shall be, as a wonder to men and women; they shall not be able, to explain you. God’s face is upon you, because His Spirit, is in you. You are favoured forever. (Isaiah 59:1-2)
