In Old Testament times, the Israelites were sometimes given directions from God that did not seem logical at the time; God told them to do something that seemed way beyond their scope to achieve. But in following God they prospered, and hindsight revealed the reason for His plan.
We have the tendency to trust in ourselves when life is easy - good job, good marriage, good kids, good health, etc. But when fear and anxiety arise in times of crisis and desperation, we cry out to God and He always hears us. But when He answers us in a way that is contradictory to our way of thinking, our fear and mistrust can often arise again. Why is it so hard to trust God?
Not only is God faithful and true, He is also patient and kind. We can trust Him in all things, at all the times!
Prayer:
Father, thank you for being faithful and true. Help us to know deep down in our hearts that you always know what is best for us. Amen.
It is good to remind ourselves that the will of God comes from the heart of God and that we need not be afraid.
