WALKING IN SANCTIFICATION:

  • 1 Thessalonians chapter 4, we read that God's will for us is to live and walk daily in Sanctification, Set apart for divine use, obstain from the sinful nature of man, we are to be recognizable to others as different and set apart from the world. We are to be in control of our own bodies, keep ourselves pure unto the Lord. We are not to mistreat, take advantage of or look down on others. Separate ourselves from all forms of sin.

    Progressive Sanctification is a life long process that continues until the believers death or the return of our Lord.  God called us into Holiness;

    In chapter 4:11 & 12;  Paul encouraged the saints to aspire or desire to do three things as they walked in Sanctification.

         1. Don't seek after the limelight, be content to lead a quiet life, do the job you are to do and not try to out shine anyone. IF you do your job the best YOU can do then others will notice, be content to be an unknown. If you desire or seek after others approval or recognition  then that opens up a window or door for the devil to work on your mind of approval or rejection of others, of what they think, am I doing a good job or not.

         2. Mind your own affairs instead  of butting into other people's business. That includes today's electronic way of checking people out to see their history, if any information  is important for you to find out, then go to them and ask them face to face, They will thank a lot more of you, and appreciate your candour of honest frankness than going behind their backs.

         3.  Be self supporting, work with your own hands, Don't become a parasite or a "Moocher", sponging off others, being kind to them just to see what you can get from them. So you may behave properly toward outsiders and not be dependant on needing others for provisions that you yourself should work to provide. NOW, there are times that  people due to health, and other circumstances that are beyond their control must become dependent on others for help. I am sure you understand what we  are saying.

    Randy King Good advice!

    It is hard to humble ourselves when in physical need to receive assistance from others gracefully! Especially when we are trusting God to help us be self-sufficient. This is especially true with our independent aging seniors who are retired...  more

    Randy King I'm not sure where the cat face came from after the Scripture reference. I didn't add it intentionally.

    It was supposed to be Psalm 23: 3

    God bless
