THE PERFECT WILL and not by PERMISSIBLE WILL

  • In the book of numbers chapter 20 the children of Israel ask Moses and his brother Aaron why they had brought the community of ADONIA to the wilderness,  for them and their livestock to die there."Why have you brought us from Egypt to bring us to this evil place, a place without grain, fig, grapevine or pomegranate and there's no water to drink?"

Moses and Aaron went and fell on their faces at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.  Then God in His Glory appeared to them and spoke to Moses saying,

"Take the staff and gather the assembly. you and your brother Aaron. SPEAK to the rock before their  eyes, and it will give out its water."  Then Moses took the staff from before the presence of  ADONAI, just as He had commanded him. Moses was a little upset with the people and made this statement, " listen now, you rebels! Must we bring you water from this rock?" ( I can hear him saying it with an attitude)

Then Moses raised his arms as if he was getting ready to do the words of ADONAI, BUT instead, of "SPEAKING" to the  rock as instructed, he took his staff and struck the rock twice and water gushed out and the community and it's livestock drank

ADONAI said to Moses and Aaron," Because you did not trust in Me so as to esteem Me as holy in the eyes of the children, therefore you will not bring this assembly into the land that I have given to them"..

Read on in the scriptures and see the rest of the story. Both Moses and Aaron died before they could lead the community to the promised land.

POINT:  Has God instructed you to maybe call someone and you think they don't really want to talk with me or hear what I have to say so I will just text them and they want feel like they are being put on the spot, after all I am still making contact.  God allows you to text, and through the text you may or may not find out why you were to call. This is permissible contact but not the perfect will of God. See his perfect will would have been a live conversation so maybe you could hear in their voice or maybe they would have open up the door for you to witness to them as the Holy Spirit was dealing with them and they were ready to receive what God had by speaking through you to them live.

See Moses accomplished what God intended to happen but not the way that the community would praise Him. All we are to do is to bring Honor and praise to ADONAI our God in everything we do without gratitude from those we may do it for.

May you have a Blessed day today.
