RESPECTING ANOINTED AUTHORITY

  • Read from the  King James Bible, Romans 13:1-6 : I am going to give you a reference from the The Jewish Voice Bible (The Tree of Life Version TLV).

     Romans 13:1-6; " Let every person submit himself to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist are put in place by God".

    2: " So whoever opposes the authority has resisted God's direction, and those who have resisted will bring judgment on themselves".

    3:  "For leaders cause no fear for good behavior, but for bad. Now if you do not want to fear the authority, do what is good and you will get his approval".

    4: " For he is God's servant to you for your good. But if you do evil, be afraid-- for he does not carry the sword for no reason; for he is God's servants, an avenger

          who inflicts punishment on the evildoer".

    5: " Therefore it is necessary to be in submission--not only because of punishment but also because of conscience".

    6: " For this reason you also pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, attending diligently to this very thing".

    We have spoken on this subject of "Respecting Authority" many times over the years but I do not remember being so impressed by the Holy Spirit of such urgency to speak on this again.However the other day I was getting ready to read and ask the Holy Spirit to show me what I needed for that day, and when I open the Bible this is what it open to. Romans 13:. I will be given you reference also from the "Believer's Bible Commentary"  to give us a clear understanding without trying  to read into what we say.

     "Obligation applies to everyone, but the apostle here is concerned especially with believers".Gen 9:6 "whoever sheds man's blood, by man his blood shall be shed. That decree from God gave authority to men to judge criminal matters and to punish offenders". So " in every society there must be authority and submission to that authority. SO!  God designed the human government. and no government exists from His will. and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. As we see that no government is any better than the person who is in control of it. "The only ideal government is with the Lord Jesus Christ as King".

    A person that  disobeys or goes against the government is not only rebelling against the authority but against what God has ordained. EXCEPTION. a Christian is not required to obey if the government orders him to sin or compromise his loyalty to Jesus Christ (Acts 5:29). David referred to King Saul as the Lord's anointed (1 Sam. 24:6,10; 26:9,11,16,23) even though Saul was a wicked King and repeatedly attempted to take David's life. David would not allow his men to harm the king, why?  because  Saul was the King and as such he was the Lord's appointed.

    There are a number of examples of evil kings, presidents, governors, and many other public leaders that we would say, why would God allow them to rule or have such authority?  And it may go against our own beliefs, thoughts,wishes, and hard to accept but God allows people to feel positions for His will to be accomplished. No leader is going to be perfect until The Kings of Kings and The Lords of Lords return.

    In a Nation where we the people have the privilege to vote and have a say who may lead us, is an opportunity that many Nations do not have. However, there are those that are running for the same positions that are totally opposite of one another. On one side you may not like their way of doing things in the past, or their failures and miss leading to gain what they want and not doing what they promised. They may promise things that go against their history or even what they said last week. On the other side you may like what they had done, in the past for the people  but do not like their way of talking, or personal treatment of others. But the first thing we must do in any election is put it before our KIng, King Jesus, Yeshua. To ask for wisdom, discernment, and direction in what He wants us to do. We are to be humble before God and stand strong before man, regardless of our personal opinion of the individual. This person may or may not be a born again  Child of God but recognized that God is Supreme Authority of all people and this person is below God, and it's by God's Grace and Mercy they are where they are.This person may not conduct themselves in a righteous way all the time like you may think they should, but do "WE" always? Or one may support and lead others in ABOMINATION in UNRIGHTEOUSNESS of God and not recognize that Jesus is Lord and may even  yield to other kings, allowing evilness to overtake this Nation, Then the other one you look at and say well at least they stand up to those that are against us and does what they say as the governing body allows them to.

     So what are we to do? PRAY! PRAY! PRAY!   for God's will be done for the person He wants to use for such a time as this. And help us to put aside our differences and follow God's word and not man's promises,  accept God's appointed servant to be used for God's reasons and not ours. To take our responsibilities to lift up all of our leaders up to the KINGS of KINGS for their protection, good health, a sound mind and for God to put anointed men and women around our leaders for Godly counsel;
