TRUST IN GOD and NOT MAN

  • In Genesis chapter 27 we read about how Jacob got Esau to give up his birthright and his mother Rebekah, deceived Isaac in giving Jacob the blessing that was to be Esau. READ on through chapter 33. We see the life and blessings that Jacob has had. Now as Jacob is prepared to meet Esau, fear comes upon him and he begins to prepare his family and all of his possessions. Jacob still thinks that Esau will kill him and destroy all he has. You can read the rest of the story but we will stop here.

We must overcome the devil who brings grief or fear in our minds, over things that we hesitate to face. Such as knowing something that may or may not be pleasing to a person once they find out, however, at some point you will have to face that rather they find out on their own or you face them. And how they will respond may be totally different than you could imagine.

It could be as simple as something you should do or maybe even a contact you should make. Whatever it is that you face in doing, the devil will bring all kinds of reasons to your mind to include fear of, "WHAT IF"  and interference In your path to keep you from trusting in God, to overcome the fear or the hesitation in doing it. . Whatever it is, once we do it then we can have peace and see it was not as we may have thought. The circumstance may have or may have not changed, but overcoming  the fear of doing has brought peace and comfort to our mind and Spirit that we have done what we should have done.

Storms, circumstances of life, people we face each day can bring all kinds of things we must deal with but the sooner we do the best it is and like Jacob living all those years in fear that Esau was going to kill him turned out to be the opposite  once he trusted God to take care of him. See we fear things more than we trust God to take care of us. We must overcome fear and be totally dependent upon God for God is not the author of fear. "FOR GOD HATH NOT GIVE US THE SPIRIT OF FEAR, BUT OF POWER, AND OF LOVE AND OF A SOUND MIND".  2 TIMOTHY 1:7
