Part Two of Three: Singing before the Lord
This last Saturday morning as I prepared to write Monday’s blog in terms of our part in God’s plan, the Holy Spirit reminded me of Numbers 16. Of course, I immediately envisioned Charlton Heston as the surrogate Moses and the Ten Commandments. Only a few hours later while breaking for lunch, I heard a song on the radio that I have not heard in quite a while. The song in question, Stand by Me, also reminded me of Numbers 16 as Mr. Heston (Moses) stood at the foot of Mount Sinai and asked the Israelite's, those who are for the Lord, stand by me. I decided to save the best remembrance for last and give you the lyrics Stand by me first.
I love that song. Every time I heard that song, I’d literally sing it to Jesus. Even to this day, when Stand by Me plays, it triggers me to singing before the Lord. See if it has the same effect on you, especially given the time of history in which we find ourselves. I pray that Ben E. King wouldn’t mind if we all changed just a couple words.

I’ll bet you all sang to Jesus along with Ben as well. We can’t help it. I (we) love Him so much. This is the hour of birthing pains, prayer, and revival. If we want revival, there MUST be a hunger for God, not just a Sunday hunger. I wonder if Ben E. King knew how prophetic his song was. Somehow, I believe that one of the three authors, or all three, were believers.
Lord Jesus, I pray that this melodious chorus of your children singing to you blesses you. We love you Lord and we give you thanks that you loved us first. We are nothing without you Lord so please continue to stand by us. Night has fallen on the world Lord and the moon is the only light we can see. But Lord, there will come a time when the sun will darken and the moon will no longer give her light. I pray Lord that you stand by us up to and through that time when the sun and moon will no longer give their light. Holy Spirit, help us with our discernment to distinguish the signs of the times. Lord, in that day we will look upon the sky and the stars shall fall and the land will not only crumble but will melt with a fervent heat. Oh Lord, stand by us, protect us from what is about to happen. Whenever I am (we are) in trouble Lord, Please stand by me (by us). I pray this in Jesus’ name, AMEN.
