Part One of Three
Today I was again reflecting on the world and the absolute total chaos and societal breakdown in which America finds herself, actually, in the world. I came to the conclusion that it is all Satanic, because it is even way beyond man’s capacity to sin. I say this because every aspect of our lives, is overwhelming. It saddens me that the greatest nation in the history of mankind is collapsing (by design) in front of my very eyes, and there is nothing I (or anyone else) can do about her outcome. I thought to myself, this will never happen Lord. This is America and it will never happen. It is your gift to us and we love her. We love you Lord, and thank you for giving her to us. I don’t want to spit in your eye, by not fighting for her.
I have personally tried hard not to worry or think about the destruction of my country, to focus solely on you Jesus. However, I am human just like the rest of my patriot “comrades,” brothers and sisters. It is one thing to read about the end times in your Word, Lord, to prophesy about it, and then to study it. But it is yet quite another to personally go through those times in question.
Father, your Son’s Word prophesied and foreordained these times for mankind’s history [1]. Does this mean that all Christians should ignore the collapse of our society, without putting up a fight. Lord, you have ordained these times in your Word? What if things are before their time? Should we still only focus solely on evangelism and let Satan do what Satan is going to do? On the contrary, does this mean that we embrace the decline of society by apparently acquiescing to its outcome, by endorsing immorality, and combining Ecumenical faiths in the name of tolerance? This is in light of you calling us to be the salt and light of the world [2]. On the one hand, Lord, I say, “No.” However, on the other hand, doesn’t your Word say that there is a time for everything under the sun? [3]. If we stand by and watch what’s happening, do we not become part of their sin. Will we be held accountable for their blood [4] if we remain quiet?
As I sit here in my recliner communicating with the you, Lord, you quickly grounded my thoughts and reminded me of an encounter that you had with Peter 2000 years ago. Yes, Lord, I remember that story. You had just told your Disciples of your impending death [5], to which Peter rebuked you saying, “Never Lord… this shall never happen [6].” I must admit, when I read this passage, I empathized with Peter and felt as he did, concerning you Lord. Peter’s remarks are exactly what I was thinking and saying about America. In my soul, Lord, you just repeated those words you spoke to Peter… to me. Was I allowing the enemy a foothold into my soul to be a stumbling block to you Jesus, and to your prophetic fulfillment even if it's before its time?
v23 Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me Satan! You are a stumbling block to me. You do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men [Matthew 16:23 NIV].
Then I realized why Christ said what He did to Him. Peter did not have the things of God foremost in his mind, but that of men, even if through his emotions. Christ knew that Peter loved him. Peter just neglected the big picture and momentarily lost his faith, which gave Satan a foothold into his life [7]. Emotions probably allowed Peter to speak before he thought, or like Jesus saw, how Satan indwelled Peter. That is, until Jesus cast him out. Speaking before we think is a familiar quote to all men. So be vigilant brothers and sisters, for Satan as a roaring lion roams about looking for whom he may devour [8]. Resist the Devil and he will flee from you [9].
I feel Christ is echoing the same thing to us today. Christ is saying to each of us as individuals, and corporately, “Get behind me, my Bride, I’ve got this.”
Lord, I want to emulate you and fight against sin at every corner. You have but one constraint… our free will. I feel like a sheep being led to the slaughter. Is it futile to fight something I have no control over? As I stand and watch Satan destroying my country from within, I know not what to do. Lord, please help me, and guide me. In your precious name, AMEN.
Over the course of the next two or three minutes, I didn’t hear God, but I felt His voice in my spirit.
My son, you ARE, fulfilling your part in this. You are betrothed to me, and did I not give you the bride’s gift of Mattan? I gave you the gift of writing, so write! While to some, I gave the gift of prophecy… so, let them prophesy. To some, I gave the gift of pastoring… so, let them shepherd their flock. To some, I gave the gift of teaching… so, let them teach. And again, to others, I gave the gift of evangelism… so, let them evangelize. Who can restrain or stay my hand? Does a sparrow fall to the ground to which I am unaware? Am I unable to save? Has the world condition caught me off-guard? Just know that, I am the Lord.
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding.[Proverbs 3:5]
