THE OLD WINESKIN IS DEAD
CRAIG COONEY, PORTADOWN, NORTHERN IRELAND
The old wine skin is dead. The old guard is passing away; some of them are stepping down, others are being removed, and some are still in position and place. They know their days are numbered. Like Saul, they are clinging to position and title but they no longer carry God’s anointing or authority.
If they won’t relinquish what God entrusted to them, He will remove it from them. A new type of leader is required in this hour. The problem is that many of the next generation have been seeking to imitate, emulate, and copy the methods and strategies of the previous generation because we were enamoured with their "success."
This will not work. We have entered a new era. There is a new template. There is a new paradigm. There is a new pattern. There is a new mandate. There is a new blueprint from Heaven.
Yes, we can honor the old, we can be grateful for the old, we can even build upon the old; but we must not seek to reproduce or replicate the old.
The Davids who have been hidden in the field are slowly emerging. One by one, the ‘unknowns’ are being called forth. God has prepared them in obscurity and they are now ready to step into their destiny. They have fought the lions and the bears in private, now they are going to take down the Goliaths in front of everyone.
They may provoke resentment, jealousy, and envy from the previous 'regime.' They will be misunderstood by many. Some will be accused of not “submitting“ or of seeking to build to build their own platform.
The truth is—they are simply responding to the voice of the Father in this hour. They have been called for such a time as this. They may come across as brash, bold, direct, even harsh at times. Anointing and authority look like arrogance to those who feel threatened by the new.
But there is a prophetic and apostolic anointing that will not be contained or intimidated. The Word is a fire in their bones and they must speak it.
No more gimmicks; no more entertainment; no more “celebrity“ status—just the Word and the raw power of God.
Listen for the new sound being released. Look out for the new voices emerging from the wilderness. They may make you uncomfortable, yet your spirit is drawn to what they carry.
In these days of shaking, God is bringing forth a new breed of leaders who will bring His remnant into their full inheritance.
When you find them, pay attention. They are not just giving advice or information—they are imparting revelation that will enable you to stand firm and flourish while everything around you shifts.
"But if I say, 'I will not mention His word or speak anymore in His name,' His word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot." (Jeremiah 20:9)
"'Is not my word like fire,' declares the Lord, 'and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?'" (Jeremiah 23:29)
“'Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.'” (Matthew 9:17)
"Saul was very angry; this refrain displeased him greatly. 'They have credited David with tens of thousands,' he thought, 'but me with only thousands. What more can he get but the kingdom?' And from that time on Saul kept a close eye on David." (1 Samuel 18:8-9)
