THE GOLDEN PEN OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
DANIEL PONTIOUS, SONORA, CA
The other night as I was preparing to put my children to bed, the Lord opened my eyes to see what appeared to be a golden fountain pen approaching me.
At first I wasn't sure what this thing was, but as it approached me in the spirit realm, I realized that this wasn't any ordinary pen; it looked like the old style ink pens that they used to fill from inkwells back in the days of my grandparents' time.
However, this pen looked like it was constructed of all gold, and it even seemed to be completely filled with golden colored ink. As I looked upon this pen I said, "Lord, what is this golden pen here for?" And the Lord said to me, "This is the pen of My Holy Spirit, which I am using to engrave My living words upon the hearts of those who are Mine. And the ink upon the inside of the pen itself is the golden anointing oil, flowing from My Spirit, by which the engraving is being done!"
"For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will imprint My laws upon their minds, even upon their innermost thoughts and understanding, and ENGRAVE THEM UPON THEIR HEARTS; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people." (Hebrews 8:10, emphasis added)
"[No] you yourselves are our letter of recommendation (our credentials), WRITTEN IN YOUR HEARTS, TO BE KNOWN (perceived, recognized) AND READ BY EVERYBODY. You show and make obvious that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, NOT WRITTEN WITH INK BUT WITH [THE] SPIRIT OF [THE] LIVING GOD, NOT ON TABLETS OF STONE BUT ON TABLETS OF HUMAN HEARTS." (2 Corinthians 3:2-3, emphasis added)
When the Lord finished speaking to me, the pen went into action. It approached a young woman reading the Bible during her quiet time with Jesus. While she was reading the Word, it was as if the pen took what she was reading from off of the page and began to transcribe those same words upon her heart with this "golden oil" ink!
As the ink connected with her heart, those words appeared upon her heart as though they were alive, possessing a life all of their own. The golden ink from the pen of the Spirit seemed to be bathing her heart in the anointing of the logos Word, which had been transformed into the rhema word (living word) right before my eyes, by the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
"FOR THE WORD THAT GOD SPEAKS IS ALIVE AND FULL OF POWER [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], EXPOSING AND SIFTING AND ANALYZING AND JUDGING THE VERY THOUGHTS AND PURPOSES OF THE HEART." (Hebrews 4:12, emphasis added)
As we partner more and more with the Holy Spirit in our lives, He will consistently take the pen of the Lord and engrave our hearts with His living word of truth (as we dive into the Word of God in an ever-increasing measure), effectively transforming each of us into a living word from the Father Himself to this generation around us.
It's not just enough that we read the Bible; we must also ask the Holy Spirit to teach us at the same time. As we do this, we'll not only see increased revelation from Jesus Christ, but we will also find Him transforming us into His image at the same time.
THE PEN OF THE LORD IS NOT JUST THERE FOR REVELATION; IT'S ALSO THERE FOR TRANSFORMATION! (See Romans 12:2.)
