"THE GOD OF MYSTERIES"
ELAINE TAVOLACCI, STATEN ISLAND, NY
In the book of Daniel, the Lord allowed King Nebuchadnezzar to besiege Jerusalem. He ordered the court officials to bring in young Israelite men without any physical defect - handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning; well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king's palace. These men were given new names: ."..to Daniel, the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego" (Daniel 1:7).
Daniel purposed in his heart and requested not to be defiled with the portion of the king's delicacies or wine. After ten days, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were healthier and more nourished than the young men who ate the royal food.
The LORD also gave them knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom, and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. They did not conform to the Babylonian system but walked in integrity with God. Nebuchadnezzar found them ten times better than the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom.
Nebuchadnezzar had a dream which troubled him. He summoned his magicians, enchanters, sorcerers and astrologers to interpret his dream, but they were not able to, so he ordered the execution of all wise men of Babylon. Daniel discussed this with his friends, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah (as he called them before their names were changed), and urged them to plead for mercy from the God of Heaven concerning this mystery, so that he and his friends might not be executed along with the rest of the wise men.
During the night, the LORD revealed this mystery to Daniel in a vision. When he gave King Nebuchadnezzar the interpretation, Nebuchadnezza fell down at Daniel's feet and said, "Surely your God is the God of gods and the LORD of kings and a revealer of mysteries, for you were able to reveal this mystery" (Daniel 2:47).
Today, the Holy Spirit is revealing the mysteries of visions and dreams, as well as their interpretations, to Believers. He is releasing His secrets to those whom He could trust, and exposing the hearts and minds of men. Those who have submitted to the process of transformation and refused to be defiled with the things of this world will know His voice and discern His ways.
He will open doors of influence to those of you who are serving Him without compromise, because you have surrendered your life and have crucified your old nature and ways of thinking. These mysteries are being imparted to you as you study and search His Word as you would search for a treasure. You are being cultivated by spending quality time in the secret place of His presence.
There is an open door, and Jesus wants to reveal His ways to you. He will give you wisdom and discernment. In Matthew 13:10, Jesus' disciples went to Him and asked Him, "Why do You speak to them in parables?" Jesus replied, "Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, but to them it has not been given" (Matthew 13:11).
We are living in a season where it's essential to hear the Lord's voice and be led by the Holy Spirit. As you store up His Word in your heart, you will soon come into a higher level of revelation; you will begin to understand His ways and know Him as the revealer of mysteries.
Job 12:22: "He reveals the deep things of darkness and brings utter darkness into the light."
Daniel 2:22: "He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him."
Isaiah 45:3: "I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the LORD, Who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel."
