"DON'T MISS THE SIGNS"
CRAIG COONEY, PORTADOWN, NORTHERN IRELAND
Elijah prayed for rain and God sent a cloud. It wasn't the complete answer to his prayer, but it was a sign that the fullness of the answer was coming. It was a deposit guaranteeing that the rain was on its way. Right now, you might not be seeing the answer you long for, but don't miss the signs around you that God is moving and shifting things.
The Father is giving His people small, sometimes subtle, but significant signs pointing to what He is doing in you and where He is leading you. He is placing before you "signposts" and symbols announcing the future He has been preparing for you.
Some of these signs will be in the physical world around you. It could be a billboard, a news headline, a social media post, repeated numbers, song lyrics, or a certain place being mentioned again and again. But you will also experience unexpected interactions, unusual happenings, even signs in nature and nations.
A sign always points to something beyond itself. So too, when your attention is drawn to something, or when something unusual happens, don't get too fixated on the sign itself. Instead ask yourself, "What is this sign pointing to? What is God trying to show me?" In many cases, it looks almost like a deposit or down payment on the big prayer you are waiting to see answered.
For example, you're praying for large financial provision and you receive a smaller gift. It's God saying, "The rest is on the way. Keep pressing in." It's happening in front of you, so ask the Spirit for the eyes to perceive it. God is longing to communicate with you and "signpost" the way to where you're going. He is directing your steps and guiding your way.
Keep your eyes open and your spirit sensitive. Slow down. Take note. Notice what is in front of you. Discern His directions as you move forward into this next significant season. DON'T MISS THE SIGNS.
