"OCTOBER: CO-LABOR WITH CHANGE"
ANTHONY MEDINA, CEDAR HILL, TX
It's been a year of great, uncomfortable change. September brought with it an increased pace in change. The shifting began to happen much more rapidly, and it kind of threw you for a loop, not knowing which way was up. As I was meditating on all of this crazy change happening to many, I was reminded of an encounter I had a number of years ago.
I was invited to a meeting at the top floor of a tall skyscraper in the middle of Manhattan (in New York City). As I arrived, I was escorted into a massive conference room. All four walls were made of glass, giving you a 360-degree view of Manhattan. In the corner, stood a well-dressed man looking out over one corner of the city. As he turned, I recognized that it was Jesus. Excited, I asked Him why He invited me there. He said, "I have these plans that I want your help with" and He proceeded to roll out large blueprints on the conference room table.
He then pointed to a part of the blueprints (which were for new building projects) and said, "What do you think of this wall?" Shocked, I responded, "You're JESUS, why do You need my help?" He said, "But I really want to know what you think about this wall." So, very sheepishly, I told Him that I didn't think it fit the overall plan. He said, "I agree" and proceeded to erase it from the plan.
He then moved on to another part, "What do you think about this?" With a little more confidence, I said, "Yeah, let's keep that." This time He responded, "No, I think it shouldn't stay" and lays out the reasons why. We went on like this for quite a long time before the encounter ended.
In October, the Lord is inviting us up to the high places to co-labor with Him in building what is to come after all of the major changes. For many, things are in their infancy stage, but the foundations are being laid now, and He wants us to inquire of Him on how to build. He also wants to inquire of us, of the dreams and desires we have concerning what to build and what it will look like.
It is time to inquire of the Lord. It is time to have deep dialog in the place of prayer. It is time to lay out all the blueprints you've been holding onto for "one day." Today may be that day! Don't just dream with God, co-labor with Him to build the structures to carry all of the change.
