DECLARING HIS WORD: TOUCHED BY HIS FIRE
DANIEL PONTIOUS, SONORA, CA
Years ago, when I was a lot younger, I can remember when the Holy Spirit would speak His words to me. As I absorbed those words into my mind and heart, sometimes it felt like those words were being physically engraved upon me somehow. Once those words were there, occasionally I would hear the Holy Spirit tell me to declare them forth in different places (for salvation, healings, miracles and the like), and as they came forth, they had a supernatural affect upon everything that heard them, and I watched as the Kingdom of God was made manifest by the Holy Spirit's power.
"...Because you have spoken this word, behold I am making MY WORDS IN YOUR MOUTH FIRE and this people wood, and it will consume them." (Jeremiah 5:14, emphasis mine)
"And regarding the angels He says, 'HE MAKES HIS ANGELS WINDS, AND HIS MINISTERS A FLAME OF FIRE.'" (Hebrews 1:7)
"If I say, 'I will not mention Him, or speak any more in His name,' there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot." (Jeremiah 20:9)
The words that God reveals to us in our lives through a place of great revelation not only become a part of our existence, but they also take on a life of their own. The Word of the Lord is often like a fire that when it becomes a part of our existence, will consistently spread throughout every part of our lives. That fire will ignite anyone else stirred by the Holy Spirit as they hear the words that God has made revelatory to you. Those words of the Lord become a flame that devour every aspect of the life it touches, because it is a living word.
"[F]or our God [is indeed] a consuming fire." (Hebrews 12:29)
God has called us to not only manifest His Kingdom, but to also be carriers of the living, ingrafted Word, a carrier of His divine nature, and a mouthpiece for the same One who created everything in creation by the Word of His power. We are called to be His letters read by all men.
"You show that you are a letter from Christ, delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts." (2 Corinthians 3:3)
The ingrafted Word that the Lord has placed in your life has the same dynamic power upon it as that of a fire in a dry forest; it catches everything around it ablaze, burning with the Holy Spirit, serving the Lord.
The word didn't originate from you or in you, but it came from the Lord, and because it came from Him, it carries a power and authority of its own. Don't hesitate to share the living word that the Lord shares with you, because that's why it was given to you in the first place.
Be the mouthpiece, the tablet (or the example) that He has called you to be! May His Word go forth from your lips with power and accomplish what He has sent it to do! Time to be bold folks! Declare the Word at the leading of the Holy Spirit and watch what that Word does to everything that hears it!
