THE FIRE AND THE CLOUD: FOLLOWING GOD IN EVERY SEASON

As summer dawns and the days stretch long before us, many of us sense a stirring—a desire for direction, clarity, and fresh purpose. Perhaps you've been asking God, "What's next?" or "When will the breakthrough come?"
If you're like me, you've discovered that walking with the Lord is less about striving and more about trusting, less about demanding answers and more about discerning His presence. The children of Israel knew this lesson all too well. In the wilderness, they were not led by logic or maps but by something far more powerful: a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night (Exodus 13:21–22). That miraculous guidance reminds us that God still leads His people today, not always with explanations but always with His presence.
There's a lesson for us here. The cloud covered them in the heat of the day; the fire warmed them in the cold of night. Whether you find yourself in a season of brightness or darkness, clarity or confusion, His presence remains your greatest guide. The key is to look up—not around. Sometimes He moves swiftly; other times He tells us to wait. But even delays are divine when we're under the cloud. Even the stillness holds substance when we're walking by faith.
This month, as schedules fill and plans unfold, I encourage you to practice presence over pressure. Don't run ahead of God's fire. Don't linger behind His cloud. Ask Him daily, "Where are You leading today?" And remember, the safest place to be is right under the covering of His guidance. Let's stay close to the flame, sensitive to the shifts of the Spirit, and rooted in the promise that those who follow God never walk in circles, they walk in covenant.
