THERE IS SOMETHING INCREDIBLY HOLY ABOUT COMMUNION

There is something incredibly holy about the meal of communion that I think has been forgotten in many ways. Paul wrote to correct the Corinthians on their approach to communion and the Body of Christ, saying that was the reason that many were sick and some had even died! (1 Corinthians 11:30). But was it their irreverence towards the bread of communion that he was rebuking or their irreverence towards their brothers and sisters in Christ? Paul didn't specify which one, but the Scriptural context includes both.
An auto-immune disease is a disease in which the body begins to attack itself. It's no different when we, as the Body of Christ, attack and curse each other, not realizing we are hurting our own Body. There's something about the fear of God that is to define our approach to one another. I know so many of you already love and serve so well, but I believe there is an upgrade for us in how we display God's heart and build together as His Body.
I Corinthians 11:27–30 (NKJV): "Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep."
