THE LORD KNOWS THE HEART

In Leviticus 9, Aaron made offerings to the Lord, hour after hour, cutting up, cleaning and burning the offerings, one by one; first for himself, then for the people. He killed the calf, his sons took care of the blood, they cleaned the insides of the animals, cut them up, and burned them on the altar.
As a farmer, I know how long it takes just to get one chicken ready for the freezer. I can only imagine this must have taken all day. ALL DAY. And the people were there the entire time: ALL DAY, worshipping the Lord through the offering.
In today's church, we rush through the offering, embarrassed to ask the people for money, because of all the bad actors who have robbed the brethren; in fact, we are denying them the opportunity to worship the Lord in this way, giving to HIM.
I said to the Lord, "How can we possibly make worship offerings to you like they did, hour after hour?"
He said, "Make your life an offering to Me... every thought, every action, every word."
Then He said something that resonated like fireworks in my spirit, "The Lord knows the heart."
Remember, it's every THOUGHT, every ACTION, every WORD. Consciously, intentionally make them an offering to Him, one by one, hour after hour—all of these to Him on the altar of your heart.
Jeremiah 17:10: "I the LORD search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds." (ESV)
Proverbs 21:2: "Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the heart." (ESV)
Acts 15:8: "And God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them." (ESV)
