FOLLOW THE UNCTION TO FUNCTION!

"But you have been anointed by [you hold a sacred appointment from, you have been given an unction from] the Holy One, and you all know [the Truth] or you know all things." (1 John 2:20)
The more I have grown over the years in the Lord, the more I have learned to listen and pay attention when I feel the "unction to function." The Holy Spirit always gives me a "heads up" when He is preparing to use me somehow for someone else's benefit. Not that I rely on what I feel as much as I do on the truth of God, however, the unction or anointing that God puts on my life is put there like a trainer to teach me how to be obedient to move when I am told to by God.
So many out there have asked me over the years, "How can I be sure to know when it's God actually speaking to me and that it's not something else?" This is why the unction is so important to me, because He uses that anointing that He has placed upon my life to train me to not just hear His voice, but also to know when He is about to connect Heaven and earth through me to someone else! Whether it is a circumstance, a situation, or something else, He signals me through the anointing, and then I hear His voice as I respond to the anointing.
I like the way the Amplified Bible puts it when it says, "you hold a sacred appointment." I call them "divine appointments," where I become like a mediator between God and the other person or situation. God causes His anointing and power to flow from Him through me and into that other area like a Holy Spirit conduit, causing the Kingdom power and dynamic to visit and touch someone else's life on earth. Consider this life your training ground! The Holy Spirit has given you the unction to function to do those things that you've been created to do in Him from the beginning (Romans 8:29–30)!
Don't limit God's ability to flow through your life because of your view of your abilities (or lack of them); it's never been about what you can do but what He will do through you! Step out in obedience when the unction comes, and watch as He causes Heaven to visit someone else through you!
