Today Johnnie and I were getting ready to run some errands. We jumped into ole blue (his beat-up ole Ford pickup) when Johnnie decided to unload some stuff from the back.
I stayed in the truck looking at my BBM "Faith works by Love" card when I glanced up for just a second. My eyes were instantly drawn to an old junk Toyota pickup truck that sat about 30 feet or so away from where we were parked.
How I saw what I saw in that second is nothing short of a miracle. I saw something that I thought was a mouse in the corner of the small, dirty, hazy back driver side window of the extended cab of that Toyota. I saw it then I didn’t. At first, I thought it was a glare. Then it popped back up. I told Johnnie “I think there’s something in that truck. He must have thought I was crazy after all the windows were rolled up. He walked over to the truck and shouted, “it’s a bird!” He opened the truck door and the tiny little bird that looked like the kind that eats the fries and crumbs off the ground at McDonald’s came quickly flying out!
Instantly the LORD spoke to me “I even take care of the little birds how much more will I do for you?.”
God uses people. By His Holy Spirit, He will cause people to see things they normally wouldn’t notice, not so we can sit and wonder “What's that about?” But so we can open the door and set the captive free!
I encourage you to plunge into opportunities that God has opened your eyes to notice today.
Seek Him, represent Him, live in Him.
Mathew 26-34
Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
