{The Power of the Appeal}
In the Declaration of Independence, American Colonists made an Appeal to Heaven against the Tyranny of the British. God ruled in their favor that they may war against cruelty and oppression. An ethical, emotional, and logical appeal came forth to one another by building a powerful case against King George lll. Soon after America was born.
King David in Psalms 77:10 states, "Then I said, "I will appeal to this, to the years of the right hand of the Most High." In his day of trouble, God granted him serenity and victory over his enemies.
In Numbers 27 there was a dispute about land inheritance going only to the sons. Five daughters make an appeal and Moses takes it to the Lord. The end result was a new policy for the whole nation.
In the book of Esther, an appeal is made against a bad law that would have resulted in the genocide of a whole people.
In the book of Daniel, you find an appeal made to live by one's personal religious convictions while a captive in modern-day Iraq.
In Matthew 26 Jesus appealed to his Father in Heaven over his upcoming arrest and crucifixion and the Holy Spirit gave God's son strength to endure.
In the Upper Room, the Saints appealed to Jesus for the Holy Spirit and fire rested on each of them. They were then sent out to proclaim the Kingdom of God to the ends of the Nations.
God hears the appeals of his people that their voice may be the voice of reason and strength for their people. In the authority of Christ, you can overthrow the wicked and establish righteousness in the land, only make your appeals today.
