My very scattered notes from Thursday May 14th Zoom conference. (Can't post the video until we get it edited since there are people sharing real life issues on it)
When Israel crossed over the Jordan into the land of promise they walked across the rock bed. The rock had been their firm foundation all through the wilderness, the rock sustained them with water, food, protection, and provision. The foundation the apostles built the New Testament on. The same rock David threw at his enemy Goliath, along with the words, "I come at you in the NAME of my God"
That same rock is what you were saved on, Jesus our Lord. It is what you have stood on, believed on for healing, for deliverance, for peace and safety. It is the hope of your eternal future.
The rock that they stood on was now to be gathered and placed on the shore for a memorial. The saving, delivering power they had stood on all those years, was now the force, once released, that would once and for all do away with their enemies in their promise land.
It is the power of that word that places the enemies of our Lord Jesus under His feet. It is through the blood of the lamb, the covenant put in place by the Rock, and the Word of our testimony of that Rock that defeats any, and all, of Satan's plans.
Daniel 11:35 tells us this sheltering season was not to destroy us, but rather to refine. Though voices tried to disqualify us, destiny was for an appointed time, and that time is now. A life of power always rises from ashes and reveal we are now equipped to do His work through His word
In this new positioning that has taken place we are instructed what to do in the "New" that God has given us. It is not to merely live and be comfortable. I have always said, "God is not interested in your comfort, but rather your faith in what He can accomplish through you." Anything ever accomplished through a believer in righteousness never brought comfort - it brought warfare. Every believer that calls on the name of the Lord must take their place before the Him.
There is always the enemy at the gate who knows what you carry, and why the Lord placed you there. He does not give up easily. In some of these places he has occupied and ruled for many years governing demonic forces in the land. It is about occupation and transformation in families, cities, and nations. Our purpose is to occupy.
The American church, for many years has sat in a comfortable pew, wealthy and fat, happy and familiar with the "church life". Sunday morning consists of the familiar. 4 songs, brief announcements, 35-minute sermon, dismissal. As a result of this comfortable Christian lifestyle we have not taken our rightful place in the Kingdom.
History shows us the gospel was spread through much bloodshed and battle. Consider that. Would we fight for what we believe in the natural? We don't even fight in the spirit; how would we ever fight in the natural for what we believe?
The Word tell us over and over that the world will hate us. It also says, all creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God." Romans 8:19. It is time to take our position. Joint heirs of the King have authority, they have status, and rule in the Kingdom.
We are positioned and expected to be ruling and reigning with Christ. Mediate in Ephesians for a while, you will get the revelation of that. There is a stern warning found in Numbers 33, along with instructions on crossing over, and possessing new territory.
Numbers 33:50-56 Now the Lord spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, across from Jericho, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you have crossed the Jordan into the land of Canaan, then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, destroy all their engraved stones, destroy all their molded images, and demolish all their high places; you shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land and dwell in it, for I have given you the land to possess. But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then it shall be that those whom you let remain shall be irritants in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they shall harass you in the land where you dwell. Moreover, it shall be that I will do to you as I thought to do to them.’”
Before you crossover, and throughout your warfare in the promise land, listen for the Lord's Instructions. In them He will reveal strategy, so we are not ignorant of our enemies plans and schemes. 2 Corinthians 2:11
Drive out ALL of those occupying the land (Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.)
If you don't drive them out, they will overcome you, hinder your vision, mock your resolve, destroy your peace, and the list goes on. Occupation requires battle.
Destroy and demolish what they have built in the land. How do you know what areas you have been assigned to? Duane VanderKolk once told me, the thing that bothers you the most is the area you are called to. Makes sense.
Victory over the enemies there means entrenchment and persistence: The original language describes it as a conqueror bent on further conquering.
Sun Tzu, a Chinese general that lived over 3,000 years ago explained entrenchment this way: "First, place yourself beyond the possibility of defeat and then wait for an opportunity to attack the enemy." This axiom of war is the pure definition of "more than conqueror."
Entrenchment means you are dug in. You have taken ground that you will never give back.
To secure any piece of ground you must eradicate the enemy and make sure there are no breaches in your security. Spiritually, that means that you are utterly un-compromised. You have evicted everything that exalts itself against God. Jesus said, "Satan is coming and He has nothing in me." Entrenchment means you are welded to God.
Romans 8:37-39 "Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Remember the three Hebrew boys answering the angry King. "Can your God save you from the fiery furnace?" Their response was that of victory, in the face of a difficult situation, "Yes He can but even if he does not, we will not worship the golden statue!
Their connection to God was unconditional and transcended all circumstances. This no-matter-what attitude tells the enemy of your soul that you are beyond defeat.
Victory is a passion to win again and again: The Book of Revelation shows Jesus, the most awesome of all warriors riding on a white horse. The original language describes him as a "conqueror sent out to conquer." There is a song "The lion of Judah shall break every chain, and give to us the victory again and again!" The true warrior understands that battles lie ahead. He has already mentally and spiritually gone into the future with a resolve to.
Think about it - you can discourage the devil! You can get a reputation in hell for never letting up, backing down, or giving in. Victory: If you want it bad enough is yours. You can kneel before your King right now, let Him give you the heart of a warrior, the unrelenting passion of a conqueror, and the inexhaustible fire of the Holy Spirit.
How we speak and to what degree is how freedom and manifestations will come. Territories are expanding, lands being issued, inheritances from previous generations, never realized are being offered to your generation. How many prayers were lifted by our own DNA genetic lines, never fulfilled, but still promised?
God never forgets His promises and is going to bring these things into your family lines now. Reach out, believe Him for them. Yes, the warfare will be intense, only because the reward is great. It is time to occupy, never to be removed again.
Dispossess those living there and possess the land God gave you. Occupation requires many battles the enemy will consider you a threat, those inside will call you crazy, this is warfare.
Joel 2
Verse 1 Blow a trumpet in Zion, And sound an alarm on My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, For the day of the LORD is coming; Surely it is near,
Verse 2 A day of darkness and gloom, A day of clouds and thick darkness As the dawn is spread over the mountains,
This is how God shows up - in a cloud. On Mt Sinai in Exodus 14:20 and Deuteronomy 4 and 5 the cloud covered the mountain. It was the same cloud that guided them through the wilderness in Numbers 9 during the day and became a fire by night. The cloud appeared to Solomon in I Kings 8:10 and He is coming in the clouds in Revelation.
Psalms 18:9-10 He bowed the heavens also and came down With thick darkness under His feet. He rode upon a cherub and flew; And He sped upon the wings of the wind. He made darkness His hiding place, His canopy around Him, Darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies. From the brightness before Him passed His thick clouds, Hailstones, and coals of fire. The LORD also thundered in the heavens, And the Most High uttered His voice, Hailstones and coals of fire. He sent out His arrows, and scattered them, and lightning flashes in abundance, and routed them.
Verse 2 refers to the dawn being spread over the mountains. Dawn is the time of His reign, and mountains refer to seats of power. (Another teaching some time possibly)
Verse 2 there is a great and mighty people; There has never been anything like it, Nor will there be again after it To the years of many generations. This army, like the dry bones in Eze 37, is coming to life.
There was a prophecy several years ago by Tommy Hicks of a giant. It was portrayed like a scene from Gulliver's Travels where the giant was tied to the ground with many stakes placed by the enemy and religion, each one holding him there.
He would time and time again struggle to free himself, sometimes even breaking some of the binding straps, only to be forced down again, and again. Suddenly, at the appointed time, a light shone from heaven, the earth shook, and the giant began standing up, casting off restraints.
He was free at last. That is where we are today, casting off the restraints the enemy has held us down with and uniting with our Lord in the final end time battle of the ages. Heb 12
Verse 3 A fire consumes before them and behind them a flame burns. When Israel was freed from Egypt and let through the wilderness the cloud moved by day, but the fire by night, protecting them.
We are moving in this fire into the darkness of night, Isaiah 60 says darkness is covering the earth and gross darkness the peoples, we move through this darkness with His fire, protecting and leading us forward as we proclaim His words into it.
The land is like the garden of Eden before them But a desolate wilderness behind them, And nothing at all escapes them. Their appearance is like the appearance of horses; And like war horses, so they run. With a noise as of chariots They leap on the tops of the mountains, Like the crackling of a flame of fire consuming the stubble, like a mighty people arranged for battle.
Before them, the people are in anguish; All faces turn pale. This is how the peoples of the promised land viewed Israel as they crossed the Jordan. They were in fear and had heard all their God had done for them in Egypt and thorough out the wilderness.
They said, "didn't our hearts melt within us when we heard". Years ago, when the Lord had revealed to me a certain revelation of grace, (we were steeped in works and legalism at this time), I had a vision of the devil. He was skinny, bent over, and looked like Gollum in Lord of the rings, and had on only boxer shorts.
On his feet were old wore out army boots untied. So, between his boxer shorts and army boots, only a pair of knobby knees could be seen, and they were shaking. I asked the Lord why his knees were shaking, and He said, "He is fearful of what you have discovered".
The enemy trembles at the thought of you picking up the Sword of the spirit and actually using it without relenting until he is annihilated.
Back to Joel - They run like mighty men, they climb the wall like soldiers; And they each march in line, nor do they deviate from their paths. They do not crowd each other, They march everyone in his path; When they burst through the defenses, they do not break ranks. They rush on the city, they run on the wall; They climb into the houses They enter through the windows like a thief.
Before them the earth quakes, The heavens tremble, The sun and the moon grow dark And the stars lose their brightness. The LORD utters His voice before His army; Surely His camp is very great, for strong is he who carries out His word. The day of the LORD is indeed great and very awesome, and who can endure it?
Remember the warning from Numbers 33 If you do not do all of the above, those you let remain will continually irritate you. They will hinder your vision and there will be constant pricking on all sides poking at you, taunting you in the place God gave you to live. Because you tolerated them and allowed them to remain you will receive the same judgment God judges them with and get the same reward that they do.
