About Me:
"I write to inspire and inform, and sometimes, I'll even make you laugh. Well, hopefully, you'll at least smile."
Growing up, I stuttered when I was uncomfortable or excited, so I had no love for words, but I was okay with them if I were talking to a friend or family member.
However, years later, I found myself doing presentations in front of my peers, all because of a required speech class in high school and college.
But those two classes helped me to overcome my stuttering. Of course, my confidence got a boost. And later, I fell in love with words and orchestrated them to say clever, funny, and profound statements.
In 2001, a peer of mine influenced me to join a multi-level marketing company; however, within five years, I achieved one of the top positions; I even attained a couple of free trips to Hawaii.
And I found a blessing in disguise, the world of sales.
My confidence grew so much that I joined Toastmasters in 2004, and within six months, I won their international area speech contest, and a trophy came along with it.
Let's fast forward to the present. I blog and have a children's book series called The Unusual Life of David Snod. I wrote it as if it were a TV series, so it has traditional episodes, but each one represents a book.
The series focuses on the influence peers, family members, and society have on a child, which sometimes affects the choices they make.
The first episode (book) is about the 12-year-old main character, David, who's experiencing school bullying; the second episode is about him trying to win his absentee dad's love, and the series doesn't stop there.
Best of all, I sprinkled the episodes with humor to capture and hold a child's attention. The children of ages 9-12 love the series, and adults as well!
