About Me:
I am a wife of 40 years and a mother of 3. My husband and I have been serving the Lord for over 40 years. I was raised in church but never gave my heart to Christ. I graduated High School in 1982 and met my future husband. In 1984, I was invited to a holiness church and received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. After that conversion I could no longer live with my future husband so we married May 3 of 1984. We began attending Hillsdale Freewill Baptist College because my husband had aspirations of going into politics and thought having a Christian college on his resume would look good for him. It was while attending that my husband received Christ into his heart and we were both baptized at Sunny Lane Freewill Baptist College by Pastor Frank Wiley. We eventually visited a church that we were invited to by a co-worker called Crossroad Cathedral Assembly of God and that’s when a lot of things changed in our lives. I had been believing for a child. I had gotten pregnant as a teen at 14 y/o and miscarried. I had prayed and prayed that my husband and I would have a child. Then the Lord gave me a dream where I saw our child. I named her Destiny and it was 10 years later before she was born. We credit Crossroads for truly building the foundation in our lives that sustained us in our Christian walk through some really tough times in our lives. We eventually moved back to our hometown, or the place where we met and started attending House Of Prayer under Pas. J. R. White. We were there for about a year and moved to Norman, OK for several years. Throughout the years we would find ourselves moving back and forth from our home town to various cities. We returned to house of prayer that was under a new pastor and they made us their youth pastors. We started out with 8 teens that were not interested in growing and really looked down their noses at anyone that was not like them. Through much prayer, Bible teaching, Church camp, fundraising, Youth Rallies, etc. we grew from 8 snobby teens to over 30 teens strong from all social classes, races, etc. They learned to be a family and the learned how to grow and shape their youth group into a strong, close knit evangelistic machine. We all grew together and it really shaped and grew us in ways we never imagined. It was during our time as Youth Pastors that I got pregnant. The funny thing is that for 10 years I talked about Destiny to anyone who would listen and when I got the news that I was pregnant the only thing that went through my mind was, “She’s finally here.” Jump ahead 22 years later. My husband and I are associate pastors at House of Prayer, under a new pastors, the previous pastors retired, and we teach an adult Sunday School. We know there are greater things coming and we are looking forward to them. To God be the Glory!!!
