One of the most difficult lesson to learn is this verse below. Religion has caused many believers to remain waiting for God to bless them but God already did.
Prov 3: 5: "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."

J PMoses was rebuked by God and was denied entry into the promised land. John the Beloved was rebuked by the angel three times in the book of Revelation - twice for falling down to worship the angel and once for admiring Babylon the great whore.
If anyone... moreMoses was rebuked by God and was denied entry into the promised land. John the Beloved was rebuked by the angel three times in the book of Revelation - twice for falling down to worship the angel and once for admiring Babylon the great whore.
If anyone thinks that it is easy 'not to lean on one's own understanding' think again and study the experiences of these two great men; partcularly their failures and God's mercy toward them. Think how Satan would have desired to stand before John to be worshipped.
It is only by God's love for us that we were given the blessing that He prepared for those who humbled themselves before The Lord Jesus Christ. less
The differences are important enough that it can affect how effective our faith is in practical experience.
The next step is learning how to manifest the blessing that we have received into daily life.
