I was unable to post last week’s Parashat. I feel last week’s Parashat is so important for the season we are in that I have to post even if it is a week late. At the end of the Parashat Moses tells the Israelites that God has commanded them to destroy the Amalekites
Duet 25:17-19
““Never forget what the Amalekites did to you as you came from Egypt. They attacked you when you were exhausted and weary, and they struck down those who were straggling behind. They had no fear of God. Therefore, when the Lord your God has given you rest from all your enemies in the land he is giving you as a special possession, you must destroy the Amalekites and erase their memory from under heaven. Never forget this!”
Here is a history lesson for you where do the Amalekites come from? They come from Esau’s family line. Esau married Adah from the land of Canaan. She was a daughter of the Hivite and Hittite nations. She bore Esau 1st born son Eliphaz. Eliphaz had 5 legitimate sons and one born by Timna his concubine named Amalek.
When Israel leaves Egypt their extended family the Amalekites attack them from behind. They attack them in a cowardly manor. They are trying to take back what Jacob stole from their grandfather Esau. Amalek has daddy issues. He has passed them down his family line. He is looking for acceptance any way possible. He is also taking what he feels rightly is his even though it is not his.
Moses instructs the Israelites to wipe the name of the Amalekites off the face of the earth. Here is a little secret for you they didn’t finish the job. In the book of Esther we are introduced to Haman is called the son of Hammedatha the Agagite. Agag was the King of the Amalekites. Haman was an Amalekites. Haman then tries to pick up where his descendants left off. He tries to wipe out all of the Israelites. We know the end of the story, his plans for Mordecai get turned on him and cost him his life and the lives of his family.
Today we have no idea if someone comes from the line of Amalek. However their is a spirit of Amalek that we still need to wipe off the face of the earth. Unfortunately the spirit of Amalek is in every government on the planet. It is in your local government, your school boards, commissioners, mayors, and governors. It is also in your federal government as well. Just look at our current administration. The 1st act of our current President was to close the Key Stone Pipe Line. This caused people to lose their jobs. It caused fuel cost to rise which in turn has caused the price of everything else to rise. This is the spirit of Amalek taking advantage of the weak. Their pocket get fuller by emptying the less fortunate. This same administration made masks and vaccine mandates which took our basic freedoms away from government workers, our military and those who receive funding from the government. This is just a few things the spirit of Amalek is doing through the current administration.
Our job is to wipe this spirit out. We don’t do it with natural weapons. For we do not fight against flesh and blood, but we fight against spirits and principalities in high places. We do this fight on our knees and with our voices. We do it with our vote. The only way we can destroy Amalek is to get a plan from Heaven and have discernment. We have to replace our current leadership. However we don’t need to replace bad with worse. Just look at Chicago. The only way we win is when we decide to get serious about the things of God. We have to spend intimate time with the Father like never before. We have to shut out the influences of the world and transcend into the Kingdom of God.
