We read in our Parashat that God is speaking through Moses giving instructions to Israel as to how to take the land. When you honor God you will multiply. Here we have a Garden reference.
Deuteronomy 7:13-15
“He will love you and bless you, and he will give you many children. He will give fertility to your land and your animals. When you arrive in the land he swore to give your ancestors, you will have large harvests of grain, new wine, and olive oil, and great herds of cattle, sheep, and goats.”
“You will be blessed above all the nations of the earth. None of your men or women will be childless, and all your livestock will bear young.
And the Lord will protect you from all sickness. He will not let you suffer from the terrible diseases you knew in Egypt, but he will inflict them on all your enemies!”
This is God’s PERFECT will for Israel. It is also His PERFECT will for you and I. Next God tells them they have to destroy all the nations in the land. Don’t show them mercy. Don’t FEAR them. They may be bigger and stronger, but your God is going to go before you. He is going to clear a path for you. He will also send terrors to those who hide in the land so you can wipe them out. He will move them out little by little. It won’t happen all at once. It is a journey.
He will deliver their Kings to you. You will erase their names from the face of the Earth. These Kings represent PRINCIPALITIES. They rule the Demonic Realm. It is our job to erase their name from the Earth. In doing this we cannot covet what they have. We can not pick up their IDOLS and covet it’s GOLD & SILVER. We can’t be swayed by their wealth. It is our job to destroy it. If you don’t destroy it, it will become a trap to you and you will suffer the same as the original King God just removed. Items cause destruction. Don't desire a creation more than the creator. Even Adam and Eve focused on the creation and desired it more than their creator. God is giving us the same command He gave Adam and Eve. He is telling us to be fruitful and multiply. Instead of a single tree to avoid we have many more things to avoid. The path to destruction is wide but the path to life is narrow. Today God is telling us to choose. What will you choose?
