This is an early birthday gift for my stepdaughter who lost her mom 3.75 mos ago to medical neglect. However, today, when all seemed lonely and another disappointment......God sprung on a 7 y.o. female bully mix. She has health issues, however with prayer, love, and the right care we believe we found our newest member. Pray for Marilyn our new dog. The Shelter stated "NO ONE WANTS HER, POTENTIAL SUITORS SAY SHE IS UGLY". Which the two attendees sided with our opinion. Tell me, what do you all think? We saved her life, and she saved my daughter's life after losing her mom. less

It’s the dog of our choice. Being from a shelter, we cannot be sure of what she has been through. But my experience is those issues, if any, can be resolved with patience, love & knowledge. I have owned 3 registered pit bulls in my life. I have also had a pit corgi mix. Along with many other breeds & mixed breeds. I fostered many dogs in my home - usually 11 max- for years. I would take her in a heartbeat! They are so very loving, caring, obedient, loyal dogs. I prayed for you to get the right dog for your family. Marilyn may be that dog! I’ll tell you this also, before I started working in dog rescue, I had 3 dogs of my own. They all were awesome & loved them dearly. But as I starting rescuing dogs, I learned that rescue dogs are so very much more grateful than my dogs. If you have not adopted her yet, don’t make your decision based fully on this, but you will be her saving grace. You WILL BE SAVING HER LIFE. You couldn’t pick a more loyal companion than this breed. If you have no other pets & your daughter is old enough to be conscientious of what to do & not to do until a relationship is developed, I think it’s wonderful. I will send you a message also. less

I have been raising and loving dogs since I was a 5 y.o. boy (30+ years now). I have seen what not to do, as my 2nd stepmother thought her title of dog trainer gave her the right to beat them, but I'd go around and feed them and show them love. This one pic, was my latest American Staffy named Sammie Daniels and we got him as a pup barely 6 wks and he will always be part of the family as he was our 1st pit together. He passed from cancer is 2019, assuming it was the pet treats or dog food that we have now found out about, but his ashes remain in his box right by my wife's box whom would give anything to help Pit Bulls especially. We had a dream when I became a doctor to have a big enough house for at least 10 pit bulls and other breeds as well. Now she has her dogs and dolphins up in Heaven to be a part of.
