Gift, 1 Cor 13:1-2 (The Passion Translation), “Speaking in tongues is not the point; love is. It is neither celestial-angelic eloquence, nor the mastery of human language that persuades. It doesn’t matter how poetic, prophetic, or profound I may sound; my conversation is reduced to the hollow noise of clanging brass cymbals if love’s echo is absent. I could predict the future in detail and have a word of knowledge for everyone. I could possess amazing faith, and prove it by moving mountains. It doesn’t make me any more important than anyone else. Love is who you are. You are not defined by your gift or deeds.”
We give more credit to those we think have a better gift than we do. Gifts aren’t the point, love is. Our gift, or lack thereof, doesn’t make us or anyone else any better. Daddy God loves all of us. What matters is that our gifts are full of love!
