Recognize — “Although no one took any notice of Him, He was no stranger to the world; He always was there and is Himself the author of all things. It was not as though He arrived on a foreign planet; He came to His own, yet His own did not recognize Him.” (John 1:10-11, The Mirror Bible)
Jesus stepped into our natural world — the world He co-created — but the world did not recognize Him! I wonder how many times Jesus, Holy Spirit and Daddy God are right in front of us but we don’t recognize Them? I’ve always said, “They like to play hide-n-seek, but unlike us, They hide in plain sight.”
The writer of Hebrews says, “Do not neglect to treat strangers with hospitality and affection; they are probably a messenger of God in disguise.” (Hebrew 13:2, The Mirror Bible) Several times the disciples didn’t even recognize Jesus!
The next time you have a moment that seems an unnatural or different from normal circumstance, ask Holy Spirit, “Is that You?”
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God, open our spiritual eyes to recognize You, Jesus, and Holy Spirit when You're right in front of us! Help us understand that You like to play hide-n-seek but hide in plain sight rather than in distant places. Give us discernment to see You in strangers, unexpected circumstances, and ordinary moments that might be divine encounters in disguise. Teach us to ask Holy Spirit "Is that You?" when things seem unnatural or different from normal circumstances. Help us treat every stranger with hospitality and affection, knowing they might be Your messengers. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Today’s Decree’s:
I decree that I recognize Jesus, Holy Spirit, and Daddy God hiding in plain sight!
I decree that I treat every stranger as a potential messenger of God!
I decree that I ask Holy Spirit "Is that You?" during unusual circumstances!
I decree that I develop sensitivity to divine appointments in ordinary encounters!
I decree that I see God in the obvious places where others miss Him!
I decree that my hospitality prepares my heart to receive divine messages!
