Courageous— “You must remain very strong and courageous! Be faithful to obey all the teaching that my servant Moses commanded you to follow. Do not deviate from him to the right or to the left, so that you will have overwhelming success in everything you undertake. Recite this scroll of the law constantly. Contemplate its day and night and be careful to follow every word it contains; then you will enjoy incredible prosperity and success. I repeat, be strong and brave! Do not yield to fear nor be discouraged, for I am Yahweh your God, and I will be with you wherever you go!” (Joshua 1:7-9, The Passion Translation)
Daddy God spoke directly to Joshua after Moses had just died. This left Joshua in charge of a vast group of people who had been wandering through the desert for decades. They were about to go into the land of Canna to conqueror it. This would definitely stir up fear in Joshua! So Daddy God was reminding him to be courageous because He would be with them wherever they went so they would be successful and prosperous!
Today, we still have this promise! “I will never leave you alone, never! And I will not loosen my grip on your life!” (Hebrews 13:5b,TPT) Jesus , Holy Spirit and Daddy God, have promised to be with us on our journey through life!
Let’s Pray:
Daddy God, help us remain very strong and courageous like You told Joshua! Remove every trace of fear and discouragement from our hearts. Help us be faithful to obey Your teachings without deviating to the right or left. Give us the confidence that comes from knowing You will never leave us alone and will never loosen Your grip on our lives. Help us contemplate Your Word day and night so we can enjoy incredible prosperity and success. Remind us that You are with us wherever we go! In Jesus' name, Amen.
