“Tricks and treachery are the practice of fools, that don't have brains enough to be honest.”
~ Benjamin Franklin
The path of integrity requires emotional intelligence. It requires a willingness to endure hardship, be persistent, stay truthful and maintain moral discipline. It requires honor.
Do not expect fools to play by the rules of honor that the wise follow. They are lured by their lustful ambition to obtain in an instant the rewards that come from a lifetime of intentionality, sacrifice and diligence.
Do not expect honesty, principles and morality from liars, cheaters, con artists and grifters. Words of correction are wasted on them. Their conscience is dead, conviction no longer keeps them awake at night.
They may appear to be faithful, loving, charming but are pretenders, deceivers, unfaithful, disloyal and unreliable. They are loyal only to their need for greed and the means to satisfy it at all costs.
Their achievements are as shortlived as their memory of the ones they betrayed, lied to and stole from.
But those who have integrity and a teachable spirit will draw from the wellspring of divine wisdom. They will rise up from every setback, betrayal and treachery into their rightful place.
Their heads may be bowed low today but soon they will be lifted up.
