The Prayerful Word - October 18

  • Jeremiah 33:3 Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know

Psalm 116:1-2 I love the Lord because He hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because He bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!

Psalm 27:14 Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

1 John 5:14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

2 Peter 3:9 The LORD is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.

May you realize, with gratitude, that the Lord has made a covenant, the strongest possible promise, to watch over you to build you up and plant His grace and mercy in your life where it can grow and flourish, to put His law in your mind and write it on your heart, to be your God, and for you to be one of His people, who are called to know the Lord, for through the completed and effective work of His Son, Jesus Christ, He will forgive your wickedness and remember your sins no more. Jeremiah 31

May you grasp the understanding, through His revelation, that the Lord is rebuilding your life from the shambles it had become to a beautiful city, set on a hill, in full sight of everyone, unable to be hidden from view or disguised, a public location to which people will come and declare the glory of God from the demonstrations of grace and exhibitions of love which are on display to all, illustrating the transforming power by which God shapes His new creation, to the point that even the parts of your life that were filled with corruption, decay, and the ashen remnants of your burnt-out efforts are made holy and acceptable to the Lord. Jeremiah 31

May you know that the Lord will cleanse and purify your life by His fire, often by the hands of people you would disdain, as they unknowingly serve Him in obedience to His leading while He shapes you to His purpose in order to restore His love to you by dwelling with you. Jeremiah 32

May you have the insight of the Spirit and the grace of God's wisdom to avoid provoking the Lord with what your hands make, lest you end up giving the best of your time and energy, your first-fruits, to other purposes than His, focused on the material instead of the eternal, under influences which do not acknowledge Christ as Lord, causing you to turn your back to Him and not your face; instead, through His mercy, following the path He leads you on that He may restore to you the fortunes and riches of the spirit which are your inheritance in Him. Jeremiah 32

My child, your desire to be of help to others is commendable, for it is a reflection of My love for My creation. But you carry within yourself nothing they need that they do not already have. Their need of rescue is the same need that engulfs you. If you both are floundering in deep water at the bottom of a great well, you have no way to help each other.
Seek Me, My dear one, for in Me alone lies life. My flesh is meat, My blood is drink. Because you belong to Me, you are complete, having everything you need. You require only to be attentive to the Spirit of God Who will unfold before you the truth that you have need of from My Word which you have studied.
The enemy plays on the carnal nature's endless appetites, seeking to convince you that something is still lacking. In its pride of self, there is always frustration present, for who can live up to its self-promoting expectations and achieve the personal glory it so deeply desires?
In Me, you have the full spiritual resources to live pleasing to the Father. The Spirit indwells you, the gifts are ministered through you, and the fruit of My nature is manifested in you. What can be more satisfying, more pleasing, more completing than to receive the commendation of the Father, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant!”

May you grow into the knowledge that there is nothing too hard for the Lord, the God of all mankind. For though His anger burns hot against His people who disobey and transgress His ways, so that He brings down what bears His name but has been polluted by their eager transgressions, yet He will surely remember His faithful ones. He will receive them from the refiner's fire when the slag and dross is removed. He will bring them back to Himself to let them live in safety. He will give them singleness of heart and action so they will always fear God for their own good and the good of their children after them. He will make an everlasting covenant with them to never stop doing good to them and inspire them to honor Him in awe and respectfully obey Him so they will never turn away from Him. He will rejoice in doing them good and will assuredly plant them in good ground with all His heart and soul. Jeremiah 32

May you be willing to serve the Lord in the assignments He gives you, motivated by gratitude for what He has done for you and by His love for others, denying yourself and being under discipline as you are trained for the service to meet the qualifications of the work that you may be found approved by the Spirit. 1 Timothy 3

May you cry out day and night to the Lord, the God who saves you, so that your prayer may come before Him when He turns His ear to you, for though your soul is full of trouble and your life draws near the grave, being set apart with the dead, without strength, like the slain who lie in the grave, whom no one remembers any more, still the Lord will not forget you, for He has engraved your name on the palms of His hands and will redeem your soul from the pit. Psalm 88

May you give food to your enemy when he is hungry, and water when he is thirsty, for the Lord will reward you in doing this. Proverbs 25:22
