The Prayerful Word - May 1

  • Psalm 98:4 NIV Shout for joy to the Lord.

Proverbs 3:5 NIV Trust in the LORD with all your heart.

Ephesians 3:17 NLT Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.

Galatians 6:9 AMP And let us not lose heart {and} grow weary {and} faint in acting nobly {and} doing right, for in due time {and} at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen {and} relax our courage {and} faint.

Psalm 73:28 NKJV But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all Your works.

James 4:7 ESV Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

May you readily seek God and cheerfully trust Him for His answer to your prayer, and His mercy to meet your need, demonstrating your understanding that delay is not denial, but preparation of your heart and outside circumstances for the best answer and greatest joy. Judges 13

May you respond in faith and acceptance to the promise of God, seeking to learn your duty and trust God for the event, for He will guide by the counsel of His Spirit and lead by the truth of His Word, but He does not need your strength or resources to bring it to pass. Judges 13

May you reflect in faith and be encouraged in your consideration so that when you have communed with God and been accepted by His grace, the next gray and cloudy day will not give cause for concern or doubt, for the Lord would not give you promises of His favor if He planned to forsake you, or have given you the victories in your soul if He intended you to be consumed in His wrath. Judges 13

May you quickly realize that the temptations and stumbles we encounter would not be so effective if it were not for the ease with which the enemy of our souls can plow with the heifer of our carnal nature and correspond with our deceitful hearts. Judges 14

May you be graced by unkindness from, and disappointments in, the world when you seek fellowship and comfort therein, that you may turn to, and receive from, the Father's house the answers to your prayers and the fellowship of the saints. Judges 14

My child, do not turn away from the bitter cup that is before you.
It is yours, and yours alone, to take and drain. No one can do it for you, and no one can change its contents. Each of My own have their own bitter cup; some delay and put it off, but others take it up and drain it immediately. This is the remedy, the prescription, given to you by Me as your Great Physician.
Who would willingly seek out bitterness for their food and drink? But who, once they understand their sickness, would delay the remedy which the doctor assigns? The cup contains the bitterness of loss and of conflict, for that is the nature of the illness.
For some, it will be the loss of loved ones or the separation of family and friends – anything that will hinder your full attention and willing service; but only what is required for you to move them from first place in your heart before Me to the place of obedient service to Me.
For others it is the loss of personal options – time, space, finances, choice; yielding up your “control” and laying down your “rights” in submission to My will.
For many, it will be conflict, for as I begin to give you light, you will find that battles ensue, before, during, and after, as you begin to walk it out before you can minister it.
The enemy does not willingly allow you to peacefully enter into the kingdom, and you frequently find you must take it by force. But I Who have called you am Faithful, and I will carry on the work of sanctification, preserving your whole spirit, and soul, and body, blameless unto My coming in My kingdom.
I bring you into My garden to enjoy My beds of spices and fragrances and know the joys and delights of My love.

May you recognize and honor the glory of God, as John did, which is to take away the sin of the world and to bear sin for us, and from us, pardoning all who turn to Christ, the Lamb of God, sparing the sinner at the cost of His Son rather than taking away the sinner as in the old way. John 1

May you hear the word of repentance spoken, and turning in faith to Christ, desire to know the heart of the Lord, and accept Him Who knows your heart, and loves you enough to accept you as you are, even as He loves you too much to allow you to stay as you are. John 1

May the Lord hear your cry for help, and not hide His face from you when you are in distress, but in compassion, turn His ear to you and answer you quickly, for He sees how your days pass away quickly like smoke and your heart is blighted and withered like grass so that you lose your appetite and are reduced to skin and bones, lying awake through the night groaning, and taunted all day by the enemies who rail against you. Psalm 102

May the Lord respond to the prayer of the destitute and honor their plea, arising in compassion to show them favor, for He sits enthroned forever and His renown endures through all generations, causing the nations to fear His name, and all the kings of the earth to revere His glory.Psalm 102

May you give sensible and prudent thought to your actions, as a wise and discreet person does, and not believe everything you hear as the naïve and inexperienced ones do. Proverbs 14:15

May you fear the Lord and turn from evil, as a wise man does, and not behave with a reckless, arrogant confidence or rage in an unrestrained, hotheaded way like a fool. Proverbs 14:16
