The Prayerful Word - July 2

  • Proverbs 4:4 Lay hold of My words with all your heart.

Isaiah 28:16 Thus says the Lord GOD, See, I am laying in Zion a foundation stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation: “One who trusts will not panic.”

Acts 11:23 [Barnabas] encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts.

Isaiah 44:22 I have blotted out, like a thick cloud, your transgressions, and like a cloud, your sins. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you.

Jude 1:20-21 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith; praying in the Holy Spirit; 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.

Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death.

May you daily live before the Lord in such a way that, without embarrassment, you can ask Him to remember your devotion and obedience as you seek to follow God in the righteousness of Christ. 2 Kings 20

May you walk before the Lord faithfully and with wholehearted devotion, doing what is good in His eyes. 2 Kings 20

May you take pleasure in the times when you can share with others the expression of God's bountiful gifts to you and illustrate the abundance of God's blessings by showing others what you have, taking care to give to God the glory and honoring the name of the Lord rather than taking pride in what you have as though it were your own accomplishment. 2 Kings 20

May you be obedient to the Lord as He sends you to minister to others, often in comfort and encouragement, drawing out and reaffirming God's work in their life, reassuring and strengthening them in the love and grace of God, while at times reproving as He requires, even as Isaiah and Nathan did for the kings of Judah. 2 Kings 20

May you be grateful for the tutors and guardians which surround and constrain you from indulgence and rebellion so that you may gain the discretion and maturity, the wisdom and the fear of the Lord, which experience and understanding will cultivate. 2 Kings 21

May you take comfort in the assurance that though God purges a vessel to cleanse it, and casts off those who dishonor Him, He never closes the door for repentance and never deserts His cause on earth, as even Manasseh learned, for the lovingkindness of the Lord endures forever. 2 Kings 21

May you do what is right in the eyes of the Lord and walk in the way He leads, not turning aside to the right or to the left. 2 Kings 22

My child, believe My word and embrace My will in your life. Place your trust in Me and allow your faith to grow day by day, event by event, as your understanding of My ways increases. Allow Me to guide your footsteps more and more throughout the day as you learn to set aside your opinions and lay down your rights, submitting your will to Me and bringing every thought into obedience to Me.
Vacate the throne of your heart and the control of your life to Me, My willful one, and allow Me to truly be Lord over you, not merely in name only. When I am the King in residence in your life, My wisdom will permeate your choices, and My power will flow through your circumstances. As you learn to willingly cast your crown, the ownership of your actions and the authority to make your own choices, at My feet, waiting for My leading, and alert to My Spirit, I will bring victory from circumstances that would be defeat in your hands, and I will bring life from those words that would otherwise minister death. Walk not by sight, nor by hearing, but by My Word as it is made real to your heart by the ministry of My Spirit.
Consider Hezekiah, My inquiring one. He trusted Me and held fast to Me, not ceasing to follow Me, so that there was no one like him among all the kings of Judah, either before him or after him. But when I told him his work was completed, he wept bitterly, desiring his own way. I granted him fifteen more years of life, and when they were up, his twelve-year-old son, Manasseh took the throne and for fifty-five years, led My people astray into abominations that were done nowhere else, sealing the fate of Judah. It took three generations to undo the evil that resulted from Hezekiah's willful refusal of My word.
Do not be willful, My precious one, but seek My will with a tender heart filled with faith, trusting yourself to the One Who has already given His all for you. Know the joy of prompt obedience, My love, and the safety of refuge in the Rock that was cleft for you.

May you receive those who also minister in the Lord, and rejoice with them in the testimony of God's blessings and the abundance of the harvest, giving praise to God for His faithfulness in the diversity of His work. Acts 21

May you be confident of the supremacy of God's will and the unchanging solidity of God's word in those times when turmoil and tumult surround you, when those you would expect to rely on are found to be against you while those you expect no support from are the ones who sustain you, for God will always use willing vessels to propel you to and encompass you within His will and His purpose. Acts 21

May you praise God when you are within His sanctuary and may you praise Him when you are outside under His mighty heavens, praising Him for both His mighty deeds and acts of power as well as His awesome majesty and ways of surpassing greatness, using trained skill on instruments of string and wind as well as with banging percussion and excited movement, for if you have breath, use it to praise the Lord. Psalm 150

Just as someone who is negligent and remiss in his work, slack and slothful in what he does, is a brother to the master of destruction, who comes to kill, steal, and destroy, even so may you be diligent to be found in the Lord without spot or blemish, giving yourself wholly to the work of the Lord, so that everyone may see your progress and honor the Lord for His hand in your life. Proverbs 18:9, 1 Timothy 4, 2 Peter 3

May you run to the name of the Lord, for it is a strong tower in which the righteous can be raised up to find safety and be strengthened. Proverbs 18:10
